The NEW DOXA SUB 600T Watch Collection

DOXA unveils the new SUB 600T watch in its famous six colours: Orange Professional, Silver Searambler, Black Sharkhunter, Navy-blue Caribbean, Yellow Divingstar, and Turquoise Aquamarine. Each 600-meter water-resistant dive watch comes in two bezel variations and a choice between two strap options

DOXA is a brand that has its roots deeply anchored in expert dive tools for daring underwater exploration. And speaking of watches built for great depths, DOXA certainly went to great depths to faithfully reinterpret an important watch from its historical catalogue this year with the release of the DOXA SUB 600T Pacific Limited Edition watch.

The story of the DOXA SUB 600

Now, the original SUB 600 watch was produced in several different variations during the 1990s but the most important features are those that have been preserved for the design of that 2021 Pacific blue model developed in collaboration with Time & Tide. You can check this model out in a little more detail here. But to summarize – the DOXA SUB 600T Pacific Limited Edition watch is a dive tool that comes presented in a fully brushed titanium case for a lightweight finish on the wrist. The utilitarian-looking dive watch from DOXA also features a signature notched bezel, highlighted with vivid orange accents for a resolutely sporty look on the wrist, not to mention an incredibly legible dial with luminous hour markers and a striking orange-coloured central minute hand. Equipped with an offset crown location at 4 o’clock - the recent DOXA SUB 600T Pacific Limited Edition watch certainly offers you a non-conventional dive watch, making it a stand-out timepiece from the brand’s current range.

Even from the year of its release back in 1982, the original DOXA Sub 600 boasted an angular looking case that rebelled against the classic round and even cushion-shaped cases of that era. With this distinct departure, the original model released during a time when the brand was under the ownership of Aubry Freres, offered the same unconventional crown positioning 4 o’clock on its case. The idea was to free up space on the wrist. No stop dive time was provided in minutes in white on the model’s unidirectional rotating bezel, accompanied by Depth in feet, enabling the diver to ascend without decompression stops. The models released around this time were known as the “Aubry-era” watches and combined this edgy angular case shape with a shed-load of tritium for illumination in dark conditions, and the unusually positioned crown to create a watch that became a rather cult-like collectable to own. The watch is still so desirable, which explains why DOXA has been so keen to reinterpret this original design with a tried-and-tested formula, creating a modern tool watch for fans of the brand and professional divers alike.

The new DOXA SUB 600T watch

There is a total of 6 new dial colours offered in the most recent release of the DOXA SUB 600T line. Of these 6 dial colours, there is an additional choice to make in terms of its strap and bezel material.  The dials present the time in orange, black, silver, dark blue, yellow and turquoise and go by the same name used for other DOXA watch collections; Orange Professional, Silver Searambler, Black Sharkhunter, Navy-blue Caribbean, Yellow Divingstar, and Turquoise Aquamarine. Out of these 6 dial colours, only the navy blue and black dial variations feature zesty orange accents found in the minute hands. Circular and triangular-shaped hour markers around the edge of each dial have been treated with Super-LumiNova for assisted guidance in reading the time whether in the dead of night or exploring daring water depths. The hands too have been treated with the same luminous material and the dials feature a legible date window at 6 o’clock to track the passing days of each month.

As with all certified dive watches, the DOXA SUB 600T watch is sealed with a scratch-resistant front crafted from sapphire crystal glass, treated with layers of anti-reflective technology. Surrounding each of the orange, black, silver, dark blue, yellow and turquoise dials is a unidirectional rotating bezel. The functional purpose of the feature is, of course, to enable divers to track elapsed time underwater without running the risk of accidentally knocking the bezel and extending dive time. But it is this fundamental dive watch feature that conveys the iconic “dive tool” look deemed so desirable, especially when it comes to collecting a DOXA watch.

For the sandblasted stainless steel bezel versions, DOXA experts have chosen to present the 60-minute scale upon the bezel in a matching colour to the dials. These coordinating shades complete an undeniably sporty look. For the black ceramic bezel versions, the 60-minute scale is presented in a legible white hue, which retains a sense of control over the entire design and constitutes a legible yet functional aesthetic.

We have covered the fact that these 40mm stainless steel dive watches come in a choice of 6 dial colours – each one in either a sandblasted stainless steel bezel or a black ceramic bezel, but what we haven’t covered yet is the fact that there’s also a choice to make on strap options. For each of the black, orange, silver, dark blue, yellow or turquoise dials colours, there is a coordinating FKM rubber strap executed in the very same shade. Alternatively, the robust stainless steel link bracelet versions offer a more sophisticated look for pairing with something more formal or a professional suit, for instance. The DOXA Sub 600T watches are integrated with 600-meter water resistance and are equipped with an automatic movement for guaranteeing a high standard of accuracy and reliability.
