Hands-on with the DOXA Sub 600T Pacific Limited Edition

For the first time, DOXA releases a titanium version of the SUB 600T having collaborated with Time + Tide for this 600-meter water-resistant dive watch. The limited edition of just 200 pieces features special engravings in reference to this special partnership, as well as examples of the famous DOXA fish logo.
You simply can’t have a pint at the pub and discuss DOXA watches without recalling the vivid orange dial for which the brand has become so renowned. It’s the luxury dive watch manufacturer’s signature colour. The cushion-shaped SUB 300 Professional diver watch that was met with resounding success during the 1970s personified a rugged diver’s tool for daring expeditions underwater. For over half a century DOXA has been nurturing and growing the SUB 300 formula. But that’s not all the Le Locle-based brand is recognised globally for. The SUB 600T watch is equally as robust, even more water-resistant, and just as thoughtfully priced.
For this latest DOXA SUB 600T watch release, the watchmaker has partnered up with Time + Tide. Born in the 1980s, the SUB 600T was a sporting icon that still lives on in the hearts of die-hard DOXA fans. Now it’s time for this new iteration, clad in vibrant blue and orange hues, to continue its legacy by creating a new chapter to the SUB 600T’s family. The DOXA SUB 600T Pacific Limited Edition watch is rendered in a fully brushed titanium casing that instantly gives the timepiece a sleek and contemporary look. Paired with its 40mm diameter, the case of the watch is surprisingly compact but certainly packs a punch on the wrist. First off, this matte look marries really well with the watch’s Pacific blue dial and bezel. Some of its instantly noticeable characteristics are its sharply bevelled lugs and thin screw-down crown at 4H, engraved with the famous DOXA logo. If you like your watches to create instant visual impact, you’re going to get your money’s worth out of this new DOXA SUB 600T Pacific watch. Its squared-off case is chiselled and masculine, enhancing the brushed squared-off lugs which differ quite drastically from the sloping lugs of the SUB 300.
A sawtooth edge defines the bezel on this expertly crated luxury dive watch. The cobalt blue with flashes of orange seen in the decompression scale only add further charm and personality to the watch. Of course, the fish emblem has to feature in a genuine DOXA watch and has been engraved onto the surface of the watch’s caseback alongside a detailed wave pattern. Watches from the SUB 600T watch collection promise a water resistance of 600 meters and the chunky minute hand has been finished in a vivid orange colour to match the edging around each hour marker. Lettering and inscriptions are placed in off-centre positions across the dial of this dive tool. The “DOXA automatic” wording can be seen aligning with the 10 o’clock location, whilst the “SUB 600T pacific” lettering is featured at 4 o’clock. The bezel of the SUB 600T Pacific watch is also unidirectional and can be aligned with the minute hand for effortless measuring of elapsed time underwater. To help with the referencing of these vital details, Super-LumiNova has been used in the bezel as well as the hours and the sword-shaped handset. There’s also a lume-coated pip in a square shape on the second hand.
Inside the rugged titanium case of the SUB 600T is the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. This has been used through the brand’s catalogue before and offers a power reserve of 38 hours, plus a performance of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch is completed on a matching blue rubber strap with a light textured central band and a titanium deployment clasp executed in the same matte finish and two buttons for added security. The clasp is also engraved with the DOXA fish logo.
