Hamilton Releases Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto for 2022

Three new additions to the Jazzmaster Open Heart line by Hamilton have arrived with a choice of new leather strap colours, robust steel bracelets, and entrancing gradient dials.

Hamilton’s skeletonized dial process is a long-standing tradition at the Bienne-born watchmaker's facilities in Switzerland. One of the most famous skeletonized dial watches of all is the Hamilton Ventura watch, first modelled on the wrist of the King of Rock and Roll - Elvis Presley. Other incredibly popular skeletonised dial watches by Hamilton are those from the timeless Jazzmaster collection. One standout timepiece is the Hamilton Jazzmaster Skeleton Auto watch released back in 2020, featuring a multi-layered dial structure and sporting the “Spiky H” logo over the top of a decorated automatic movement. It not only offered the Hamilton watch collector an affordable price point for a skeletonized dial but conveyed a very classic styling with its black leather strap and legible black hour and minute track around the edge of the dial for effortless time-reading.

For 2022, Hamilton has released a new Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watch with a skeletonised dial that joins other Open Heart models like the ref. H32705152 with striking blued Arabic numerals at the cardinal points on the hour track, or the women’s Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Lady watch ref. H32115892, which you can check out here. This model offered a glimpse of its automatic engine through a flower cut-out design against an iridescent mother of pearl backdrop. This new Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watch by Hamilton, however, brings something new to the collection yet again. What can be considered a very classic and versatile silver-white dial option is introduced alongside two gradient dials in deep green and mesmerizing blue shades.

The six new variations of the Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto

The ref. H32675540 boasts a stunning blue-black gradient dial that starts in a vivid blue shade at the centre of the display, slowly blending into darkness as the eye approaches the hour track. The watch is fitted on a stylish brown leather strap that blows up the blue dial beautifully. It’s an incredibly clever dial design. The display is not only instantly eye-catching, with its bright centre, but also highly legible, thanks to the blackness around the model’s stick hour markers and even finer minute markers. For a more dressed-up feel, you can opt for the new steel-on-steel configuration on a 5-row bracelet in the form of the ref H32675140.The second model is a gradient green dial version. A sage green centre melds into a darker green shade before transforming into a black outer edge as it meets the hour track in the model ref. H32675560 with a brown leather strap. Once again, the steel bracelet model can be found in the ref. H32675160.

The third Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watch is a silver-white toned display that offers an alternative to its eye-catching colour-blending siblings. The centre of the dial is a shimmering silver, framed by a white hour and minute track for a cleaner and sharper look. The ref. H32675650 is the leather band version which, this time, comes in a deep blue shade, whilst the stainless steel variation ref. H32675150 proves a great option for pairing with a suit.

All you need to know about the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watches

Despite the differences in the colour palette of these three Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watches, they do share a few things in common. Each has a heart cut-out between the 12 and 3 o’clock location on the dial and once again between 7 and 8 o’clock – a unique way to oversee the artistry and performance of the movement whilst it works effortlessly behind a sapphire crystal glass front. The H-10 automatic movement that powers these watches is a version of Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80 movement, offering an impressive 80-hour power reserve and a performance rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. A non-magnetic Nivachron balance spring is just one of the movement’s many benefits.

All 6 configurations of the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watch measure a 40mm diameter and have been crafted from stainless steel with a water resistance of 50 meters. Their 11.05mm height makes for a relatively slim watch that can be easily worn whether looking for an addition to elegant evening attire or a companion to wear alongside an office suit. Alternating brushed and polished finishes give depth and dimension to the design, whilst the sapphire crystal glass fitted to both the front and back of the case gives a good view of the movement alongside ample dial protection, shielding the surface from denting, dust, moisture, heat and light damage amongst other things. The anti-reflective coating applied to the sapphire glass front enables a clear view into the dial, free from the undesirable glare caused by artificial or natural lighting. The appearance of the lugs is slenderer in profile, lending to a modern and more refined feel on the wrist.

As well as the signature Jazzmaster Open Heart cut-out sections on the dial, the display of each new model also features nickel hands and hour markers for the gradient blue and green dials and blue-finished indexes and hands for the silver-white models. A layer of Super-LumiNova is also coated to the surface of the central minute and hour hands of each new Jazzmaster watch. Lastly, the Hamilton lettering and logo has been re-located to the 9 o’clock area like all models from this Open Heart line.

Both brown and blue leather straps fitted to these three new Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto watches have a patinated finish, whereas the stainless steel bracelet executed in brushed and polished finishes encloses around the wrist with a refined folding clasp engraved with the Hamilton logo.
