The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15 Watch Has Arrived

Boasting an array of vibrant colours, the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 6-15 watch has been produced in a limited number of just 282 pieces and offers a generous view of its movement adorned with steel blue elements through its eye-catching design

The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf watch derives from the original Sea Wolf watch collection, first released in 1953. The Sea Wolf was originally designed for everyday watch enthusiasts but had superior dive-ready features that made it exceptionally good for exploring deep and daring underwater depths. Zodiac released the Sea Wolf watch during a prominent time for the dive watch. Features like a robust case, a legible dial and a superior water-resistant capability made this dive watch the order of the day during this era and what’s more, those offered by Zodiac were affordable, rivalling many competitors at the time. It would not be until the 1970s when the Super Sea Wolf watch would enter the scene, however. It came with some significant modifications to improve its use as a robust tool for diving. Amongst these adjustments were a new crown and stem, a new caseback and an improvement in its ability to perform down to 750-meter depths (as opposed to its former 200 meters).

The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf has always been a collector’s favourite and in 2021, the Swiss watchmaker decided to re-release it. The newer version was given a better spacing between the lugs and a case diameter of 44mm. Whereas original models would have dials that highlighted the 2, 4, 6 and 8 o’clock locations, more modern versions highlighted the 3,6 9 and 12 o’clock locations. Over the 60-plus years that the Zodiac Sea Wolf has been around, the bezel has changed significantly with newer versions replacing the brass material used in original models to promise a more durable finish.

The case and movement of the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15

The new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Skeleton 6-15 Limited Edition watch is designed in the same faithful way as the brand’s reliable Sea Wolf range, with a 200-meter water-resistant capability and a case diameter that is both manageable and comfortable of 40mm. It has been crafted from stainless steel and features a strong pane of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that acts as a protective shield across the dial. To grant a clear view into the display, the glass has been treated with layers of ant-reflective technology. Underneath this glass is a chance to appreciate the complexity and the genetic makeup of a brand new movement released by Zodiac. The Calibre STP 6-15 can be viewed from the front of the watch as well as through a sapphire-backed case, complete with its deep blue steel rotor along with other steel blue elements that can be seen both from the front and back of the watch.
