The new Conquest Chronograph watches for men by Longines carry the collection’s faithful sporty-come-elegant spirit and offer two beautiful designs that are perfect for wearing every day of the week.
The great thing about a Longines Conquest watch is no matter how advanced the technology becomes, the designs still retain a sense of originality and classic beauty. Within the collection, you have a diverse choice in style, material and functionality. You can opt for something as simple as a three-hander to cover all eventualities, or something as elegant as a delicate-looking moon phase complication. If you travel frequently, you may be drawn to the GMT variant or you may go for a sportier chronograph. The new Longines Conquest Chronograph watches for 2023
The new Longines Conquest Chronograph watch reference L3.835.4.52.6 is the more classic of the two. The reverse panda dial features a rich black display adorned with three silver-coloured chronograph counters placed at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. A subtle shot of red can be seen in the chronograph hands of this design (the central chronograph hand on the main dial, the 12-hour hand at the 6 o’clock sub-counter, and the 30-minute hand at 9 o’clock). The choice by Longines experts to fill each of the chronograph counters in with a silver colour adds a nice contrast to the display and enhances readability when wanting to quickly reference stopwatch timings. A silver ring features around the outer edge of the dial, where baton markers for the hours have been treated with luminous material. On the very edge of the dial is a minute track, framed by an external tachymeter bezel for measuring speed based on distance.
The Longines Conquest Chronograph watch reference L3.835.4.92.6 features a tone-on-tone blue dial with silvered accents coming through from the polished and applied hour markers and the luminous central hands. The minute and hour hands, once again, taper to a sharp sword-like point. This time, the minute track and hour track are all finished in the same blue colour. A blue ceramic tachymeter bezel completes its sporty yet classic design.
The new Longines Conquest Chronograph watches have both been crafted from stainless steel and both measure the same 42mm diameter. The models are water resistant to 100 meters and feature a screw-down crown stamped with the Longines logo at 3 o’clock, together with polished push-pieces at 2 and 4 o’clock that provide effortless control over stopwatch timings. The front of each men’s chronograph watch is secured with a piece of scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass to protect the dial from denting, dust, heat, light and moisture damage. The back of the case also uses the same material, exposing the effortless performance of a chronograph calibre through its window.
The movement put on show is the automatic Calibre L898. It produces a power reserve of up to 59 hours once fully wound and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. It controls chronograph seconds, 12-hour, and 30-minute functions, as well as minutes, hours and small seconds.
