Meet the Czapek & Cie Antarctique Revelation Watch

Following on from the time-only Antarctique watch released a few years back, Czapek & Cie launched a skeletonised version in 2021 and named it the Antarctique Rattrapante Silver Grey model. The split-seconds chronograph watch was equipped with a skeletonised dial that exposed all the finest elements of the SXH6 movement through the dial. It was a technical marvel that fans couldn’t get enough of. With that in mind, Czapek & Cie now releases the new Antarctique Revelation with a skeletonised dial to show off the beauty of its in-house manufactured micro-rotor movement, the Calibre SXH7.

Luxury sports watches have never been more popular, yet a skeletonised version makes a watch like the Antarctique Revelation even more admirable. Czapek & Cie strip the watch down to expose a beautifully engineered micro-rotor calibre through a silvery grey dial in this newly released model for Watches & Wonders 2023. This time-only version shows the mechanics of its heart perfectly within a robust case crafted from stainless steel. CEO of the company, Xavier de Roquemaurel explains where the passion and inspiration came from in this new Antarctique Revelation watch;  “People were in love with the remarkable design of our SXH5 calibre, and we, therefore, asked ourselves how we could somehow make it visible on the dial. One of the first requests had been to engrave a drawing of the movement onto the dial, as a trompe l’oeil. But soon a far more complex idea emerged, namely turning part of the movement upside down in the case and skeletonising the main plate”.

Inviting you as the wearer to dive into the complexities of the Calibre SHX7, Czapek & Cie have tastefully exposed the movement through a skeletonised dial that retains the sporty elegant look of the Antarctique Revelation watch fully. To do this, several parts of the movement had to be changed. The keyless works needed to be modified and the escapement had to be reversed. More notable changes to the dial had to be undertaken, such as the relocating of the central seconds hand to a small seconds sub-dial at 4:30, since the second hand had no bridge to attach to. The smoked sapphire small second sub-dial is a nice touch to the overall design of this Antarctique Revelation watch, donating even more clarity to the central hour and minute hands taking up residence in the centre of the dial.

The Czapek & Cie Calibre SXH7, with its 30mm diameter, is exposed through both the front and back of the Antarctique Revelation. A piece of strong scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass is attached to the front and back of the watch, complete with layers of anti-reflective treatment applied to its surface. The movement features an openworked barrel, bridges that are black and sandblasted, and hand-chamfered flanks that are straight-grained. Once fully wound, it produces a power reserve of 60 hours.

The new Czapek & Cie Antarctique Revelation watch measures a diameter of 40mm making it an ideal companion for the average-sized wrist. Its versatility and wearability are leveraged further with a comfortable integrated stainless steel bracelet. The C-shaped central links of the bracelet are polished whilst the remaining links are brushed. The bracelet secures to the underside of the wrist with a stainless steel folding buckle with an extension feature. Additional features of the new model include a 150-meter water resistance, a screw-down crown and luminescent material applied to the dial’s sword-shaped hands.

There will be just 100 of these Czapek & Cie Antarctique Revelation watches made available. To order one of these sports integrated bracelet watches, you can call and speak to a member of our Jura Watches sales team today on 01335 453453.
