Introducing the new Meistersinger Neo 36 Azure Blue Watch

If you thought the sunburst red degrade dial of the Meistersinger Neo Plus watch was astounding, you haven’t seen anything yet...

Meistersinger has released a new watch for its simplistic yet contemporary Neo watch collection. It arrived at the same time as its bigger sister but features an all-azure-blue dial whilst its larger sibling featured a classic black dial with subtle pops of azure blue. This new block colour seen in the 36mm Neo watch is entirely new for 2023 and has been inspired by all-American classic diners. Evoking images of milkshakes, duke boxes and TV hits such as Grease and Happy Days – the watch goes all nostalgic and playful with this new release for 2023.

Meistersinger has a distinctive identity in the watch world. No other brand makes watches that tell the time in the same way. The models from the Neo watch collection forfeit the minute hand and instead feature just one single main hand that does two jobs in one. Meistersinger Neo watches, like all watches from the Munster-based manufacturer, tell the time accurately to the nearest five minutes. The Neo was first released in 2015 and was followed by a larger iteration a few years back. The larger models were brought out in ivory, black, opaline, sunburst green and midnight blue and soon grew to feature degrade dials that stood out on the wrist. The new 40mm Neo Plus addition to the line is a black display with shots of azure blue injected through its signature time track. These can be seen in five-minute increments, yet the 36mm Neo watch uses the same colour but in a whole different way. In the Meistersinger Neo 36, a full azure blue dial captivates with its stunning turquoise shades. In the same traditional manner, the dial features just one single hand in white to match the minute scale around the edge of the dial and the double digits for each hour's location. At the same time, the dial captures the spirit of the 1950s with this striking colour and has been beautifully executed with graphical elements that stand out well alongside a functional typography that looks like no other watch on the market.

The sans-serif Helvetica font used for the atypical double-digit numerals spans from 0 to 12 and is accompanied by a date window that sits at 6 o’clock in a perfectly round shape. The central hand that depicts the time to the nearest five minutes is executed in a bright white once again and tapers to a fine point at the tip. This theory of timekeeping is a unique one. It’s not possible to tell the exact time and that’s the beauty of its design. It encourages you to relax and enjoy timekeeping in a more calm and casual way.

The new Meistersinger Neo 36 watch has a very unique style. It goes without a bezel and instead features a hardened acrylic glass front that is similar to those used in watchmaking during the 1960s. It secures to a two-piece case construction made from stainless steel that comprises a perfectly round body and a solid back cover. All casebacks of the popular Neo line are engraved with a fermata motif designed as a graphical logo by Meistersinger. The symbol, meaning “pause” in English is used in music to prolong a note and can be seen repeated across the surface of the stainless steel material, alongside the Meistersinger letters.

Behind the special engraved caseback of the 30-meter water-resistant Meistersinger Neo 36 watch is the Sellita SW-200 Movement. The automatic engine performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and produces a power reserve of 38 hours once fully wound.

The new azure blue Meistersinger Neo 36 is fitted in a classic black suede strap with a polished stainless steel pin buckle engraved with the Meistersinger logo. This casual yet elegant strap choice will enable you to wear the watch during the day, as well as at night and the watch comes displayed in a genuine Meistersinger presentation box with a two year guarantee.
