A brief history of the Oris ProPilot X watch
The first ProPilot X watch was first released back in 2019 and brought a new concept to the pilot watch design. Previously, its titanium case was packed with the Oris Calibre 15 – an in-house skeletonised movement that promised a staggering 10-day power reserve. In 2022, Oris released the second generation of the ProPilot X watch. These recently released designs mark the latest chapter of the history of this relatively young series. The Oris ProPilot X Calibre 400 is an impressive and attractive design. Amongst some of its best features, it offers a 5-day power reserve and is crafted from a multipiece lightweight and water-resistant case construction. Before we go into more detail on this Oris ProPilot watch, let’s take a look at some of its key characteristics:

The multi-piece titanium case construction has sandblasted and satin finishes. Its screw-down titanium crown helps uphold a water resistance of 100 meters. Thin stick markers represent all of the hour markers apart from the double hash mark located at 12 o’clock whereas smaller white dashes depict the minute track. The Oris name resumes its usual place below the 12 o’clock location whilst the ProPilot 5 Days lettering sits above the 6 o’clock location. This lettering sits near to a rectangular date window, set against a white background but featuring crisp black numerals that stand out with contrast. The sword-shaped hands featured on the dial have also been treated with a layer of Super-LumiNova to assist with timekeeping in the dark.
