Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT Limited Edition Watch Review

The craze for bronze watches continues to make its way into another year, and rightfully so, as the new Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT Limited Edition showcases the extraordinary material on its divers bezel. To celebrate the history of bronze and its use in the diving world, Davosa have engineered the unique material into a selection of 300 limited edition pieces at an incredible price of only £945 – an extremely affordable price point for a luxury bronze diving watch!

Bronze is an absolutely breathtaking material that offers something truly unique to its wearer. It has a long and established history of being used in deep sea diving helmets and its uniqueness comes from its ability to naturally age and change colour the more it is worn. When exposed to moisture in the air and pH levels in perspiration, the bronze will develop a natural patina. This means each one of the 300 pieces being released of the Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT Limited Edition watch will become completely bespoke to the wearer the more they wear it.

Last year, Davosa released another Argonautic Bronze Limited Edition watch which similarly to its successor was limited to 300 pieces but instead showcased a full bronze case. Now, they are offering the Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT watch with a sophisticated two-toned look which includes a satin-finished stainless steel case complimented by a bronze diving bezel. The case measures to a comfortable 43mm in size while the warm-toned bronze bezel gleams with a reddish golden tone that will eventually oxidise over time and develop an unmistakable patina. Designed especially for diving, the bezel is also equipped with unidirectional turning functionality and a 60 minute scale perfect for counting down dive times.

It’s water resistant rating of 300 metres if assured by the screw down crown and screw down case back as well as a manual helium valve at the 10 o clock position which protects both the watch and diver alike. When the valve is open, helium molecules escape from the case which prevents both the crystal and the crystal seal from being blown open by the excess pressures of being deep underwater. It also helps ensure that the watch maintains perfect precision and reliable dive time measurements.

Housed beneath the anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass of the Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT is a textured black dial detailed with bronze-coloured hour, minute and seconds hands and indices which match the bronze bezel. For optimal legibility, the hands and indices are coated in vintage Superluminova in the colour “Old Radium” which perfectly compliment the vintage aesthetic. Alongside the classic central hands, a date window sits at 3 o clock powered by the DAV 3021 automatic winding movement. The Swiss made calibre is based on the ETA 2824-2 and promises a power reserve of 38 hours.

The Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT Limited Edition watch is completed by a sporty and waterproof integrated black rubber strap with a classic stainless steel folding buckle. The piece is also presented with a closed case back engraved with its own unique limited edition and comes delivered in an elaborate wooden box to mark its position as a truly one-of-a-kind limited edition. If you would like to order your own Davosa Argonautic Bronze TT Limited Edition, you can find the timepiece on the Jura Watches website here.
