The dial of the new Seiko 5 Sports Honda watch is inspired by the front of the Honda Super Cub’s profile with a striking retro green and cream striped surface and a 12 o’clock location shaped like the front headlight of the bike. The 1 and 11 o’clock markers are styled on the bike’s front indicators with a Super Cub logo located at 6 o’clock, presented in the same way as it would be seen on the bike itself. The central green section running down the middle of the dial creates a stark contrast against these orange-filled hour indicators t 1 and 11 o’clock, whilst the day-date feature at 3 o’clock stands out in black against a cream stripe running down the right-hand side of the dial. Another cream-coloured section is repeated on the other side of the dial, framed by a cream minute track around the edge of the display. The square and rectangular hour markers and central hour and minute hands have been treated with Lumibrite, whilst the central second hand is enriched by an orange coating.
The new Seiko 5 Sports Honda Limited Edition watch is crafted from stainless steel and measures a diameter of 42.5mm. It also sits at a height of 13.4mm and is topped with an eye-catching green bezel showing a 30km/h speed limit sign. The fuel gauge icon can be found on the 4 o’clock location, grooved for an excellent grip. The top of the display is protected by a robust Hardlex glass front. Providing a clear view into the hands of the dial, propelled by the Seiko Calibre 4R36. This movement with automatic and manual winding provides a 41-hour power reserve once fully wound and performs at a rate of 21,600 vph whilst inside a 100-meter water-resistant housing.
The new Seiko 5 Sports Honda Limited Edition watch is fitted on a special deep green and cream NATO-style strap adorned with the Super Cub writing in a stylised font.
