Tissot Watch is Official Timekeeper of RBS 6 Nations

Tissot has announced its role as Official Timekeeper of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, a partnership which will see every referee wear an exclusive Tissot watch.

"Tissot is very proud to, once again, be the Official Timekeeper of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, the greatest annual rugby championship in the world," said Francois Thiébaud, President of Tissot. "The sport of Rugby demonstrates many of the core values which we share at Tissot, such as teamwork, respect, discipline and a love for sports. These Championships are therefore the perfect platform for Tissot to be showcasing their timing expertise in an exciting, international environment, which at the same time represents the brand’s spirit perfectly. We cannot wait to get started."

Every RBS 6 Nations referee will wear a special Tissot T-Touch Expert watch to "assist them in performing their match duties with the ultimate in accuracy and style". Tissot will also provide live on-screen match timing graphics to the Championship broadcast partners as part of the three-year agreement, and a Tissot countdown clock will appear on the official RBS 6 Nations website. The clock will count down to the first match of the 2013 RBS 6 Nations Championship: Wales v Ireland at 1.30pm on 2nd February, taking place in Cardiff.

John Freehan, Chief Executive of the RBS 6 Nations, said: "We are delighted to welcome back Tissot as our Official Timekeeper. We greatly valued our relationship with Tissot when they were our timing partner back in 2004 and 2005 and it is great to have them back again within our very select family of Championship sponsors. Their passion for sport in general and for rugby in particular has impressed us greatly and we look forward to another very productive and successful partnership with them."
The T-Touch Expert offers 15 functions, each activated by a touch on the screen: an altimeter (in feet and metres), altitude difference meter, chronograph (split and cumulative time), compass, two alarms, thermometer (in ºC and ºF), barometer, date and time (12-hour or 24-hour), perpetual calendar, countdown timer and backlight. It has a 43.6 mm stainless steel case, sapphire crystal and black carbon dial.
