Nomos Glashütte Watch Metro Wins iF Product Design Award

The Nomos Glashütte Metro has won the iF Product Design Award, the third prestigious prize to be awarded to this popular watch.
One of the oldest and most renowned design prizes worldwide, the iF Product Design Award has celebrated outstanding design achievements for the last 60 years. Recognising "modern icons", the iF award recipients are chosen in Hamburg by an international jury of 53 members. The winners have successfully demonstrated to the jury that the design of their products creates added value.
This marks the third design prize in quick succession for the Nomos Glashütte Metro, following the German Design Award and the Good Design Award. Designed by Mark Braun, the Metro was created for "metropolitan types with an eye for aesthetics". This sophisticated watch combines precision with elegance and features the Nomos swing system, the brand's new in-house escapement.
"To receive three such important prizes for a new model is a huge honour for us," said Judith Borowski, who is responsible for branding and design at Nomos Glashütte.
Nomos Glashütte watches have a successful history with the iF Product Design Award, with three other models winning in previous years: the Zürich in 2012, Tangomat GMT Plus in 2013, and the Ahoi in 2014.
