Rather than filling this article with all the highly technical language that comes with every new Garmin release, we’re going to highlight the basics of what you need to know if you’re thinking of purchasing the new Garmin Venu 3 watch this season.

What’s new with the Garmin Venu 3 watch?

As we’ve already mentioned there are many features to talk about in this new model. One of the key features is a power reserve of 14 days in Smartwatch mode. You can also gain a more holistic view of stress levels and how they are affecting your daily routine, as well as insights into your sleep modes and nap patterns. Explaining a little more about the new smartwatch is Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president;

“No matter what your health and fitness journey looks like, Venu 3 is ready to support you every step of the way. Whether your focus is on meaningful rest and relaxation, getting a good workout in, chasing your next PR at an upcoming race, or anything in between, the exciting new features on the Venu 3 series provide even more personalized data, making it easier to understand your body like never before.”

Sleep

The Garmin Venu 3 watch features a Sleep Coach element that will enlighten you in learning how much sleep is needed versus how much sleep you’re actually getting. It will also show you your sleep stages and nap stages as well as key metrics like pulse and heart rate levels. The Nap Detection feature has been designed to track and log your naps and show how these naps are benefitting your body at suggested times throughout the day, as well as the duration of your naps. With the Morning View feature, you can look at an overview of your previous night’s sleep. It can show you your HRV status and other metrics. Plus, you can even customise this feature to show you more of what you want to see.

If you’ve ever wanted to optimize your energy levels and choose the best time to exercise or rest, the Body Battery feature in the new Garmin Venu 3 does all the hard work for you. The Wheelchair mode is also a new and interesting feature that now makes workouts and fitness accessible to those who can’t exercise in the conventional way. It tracks daily pushes and produces customised workouts and exercise routines that are specific to wheelchair users.

Staying connected

With a built-in speaker and microphone, you can now take calls whenever you want and respond to messages whilst on the go. Compatible with smartphones, the feature allows you to keep connected and up-to-date with your colleagues, friends and family whilst on the go.

Relaxation

The Meditation activity is a great feature in the Venu 3 watch if you’re looking for ways to reduce daily stress. If you find it particularly difficult to factor in time for yourself, it will make you make the time. The meditation activity feature gives you the perfect excuse to detach from your current life and indulge in a little relaxation.

WORKOUTS

You also get the new Interval Creation feature in this new smartwatch. If you’re into running and cycling and you want to build interval workouts around these activities, you can now do that easily with the Garmin Venu 3. The Workout Benefit and Recovery Time feature is fairly self-explanatory. It enables you to better understand how your daily workout is affecting your body. It will also provide you with guidance on how much time is needed for you and your body to recover physically and mentally after a workout. Lastly, a Rate of Perceived Exertion feature can now be enjoyed during a workout. You can record how difficult your workout felt and how much you enjoyed it so that you can follow your progress in a much more personalised way moving forward.
