Day 1 at Baselworld 2016

As the Jura team descend upon Baselworld 2016 seeking out the latest innovative releases from our plethora of luxury brands, I will be sure to share all the exciting unveilings in our daily round up! The perfect opportunity to remain up to date with the movements of the watchmaking industry. Eager to inspire, delight and thrill, the team will capture the creative watch displays and the exquisite timepieces that lets face it will most likely be fastened to their wrist - they simply can't resist!

Starting the day with a trip to Bremont the team were excited to discover a trio of ladies watches on show; it was instant love for the Jura crew. The minimal, classic dials infused with the beautiful leather straps in red, lilac and white are difficult to resist fitting onto the wrist perfectly with the 32 mm diameter. The Solo 32-AJ/BK is named after one of the Bremont brothers heroes, Amy Johnson. A brave woman who in 1930 flew her DH-60 Gypsy Moth from England to Australia. Whereas the Solo 32-LC/WH is inspired by another courageous female pilot Lettuce Curtis who was recognised in the Second World War for her remarkable piloting. She flew a wide range of military combat aircraft with the Air Transport Auxiliary and was the first woman to fly a four-engine bomber.

Next is chance to admire the new Bremont ALT1-C Polished Steel Black, which was immediately fastened to the wrist to capture the wonderful black dial and the beautifully polished applied numerals. Hailed by the Jura Team as a “stunning addition to the collection” we couldn’t agree more! Explore the exquisite timepiece further with our blog post dedicated to Bremont.

Moving on to Bell & Ross the ‘sensational’ BR-03-93 GMT was a highlight for the team with its powerful boldness. An incredible shot of the fierce timepiece was certainly required capturing the resilient steel case, oversized dial and GMT feature. A piece that oozes strength, masculinity and watchmaking genius!
