The next generation of the Panerai Luminor has arrived. The Italian watchmaker is spotlighting its most popular, flagship design with a redesigned Marina Luminor.

Panerai is taking its Luminor Marina watch into new territory but is celebrating the Luminor collection as a whole with designs made available in steel and titanium that now sport thinner, more ergonomically formed dimensions. The new additions to the line, promising improved luminous material on the dial and better water resistance, celebrate the lifespan of the Luminor Marina from the 1960s, right through to the present day, and counting. New Luminor Marina Design

Presented at Watches & Wonders 2025, Panerai unveiled the new Luminor Marina watch – an instrument that has long been associated with comfort and durability. Cleverly, master watchmakers at the company’s ateliers have managed to preserve its emblematic identity beautifully, while also equipping the watch with some important updates. The new releases include a new white dial Panerai Luminor Marina reference PAM03314, a blue dial reference PAM03313, and a black dial reference PAM03312.

All three new models sport a 44mm stainless steel case shaped into the unmistakable cushion profile and the prominent crown protection guard at 3 o’clock. The proportions of the case, however, have been refined, offering dimensions that are 12% thinner. Even so, these new models exude the same bold presence and clean-cut lines that fans love about the design. For the first time, these new models sport an improved water resistance of 500 meters, reinforcing the brand’s deep dive heritage. If there was any confusion about the Luminor Marina’s capability underwater in recent yeas gone by, there will be none now. This is an extremely serious dive tool that underpins Panerai’s commitment to creating watches with the industry’s best materials, while at the same time, always staying true to the line’s neo-vintage looks.

The minimalist design of the Luminor Marina has always been well-valued by the brand and its loyal fan base, featuring the instantly recognisable sandwich dial albeit with some upgrades in terms of luminosity. Luminor Marina Titanio

As you will have guessed from its title, the new Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio watch is crafted from the brand’s proprietary titanium. I mentioned earlier that these new releases sport a 12% thinner case profile, but this model also promises a 44% lighter weight composition compared to conventional steel. If you’ve taken an interest in Panerai’s history before, you’ll know that the Luminor began as a watch for the Italian military. It was only in the 1990s that the brand made these watches available to the public. They were strong and reliable back then, but over the years, Panerai has built upon the foundations of the entire Luminor range and now offers designs with various dial colours and different case materials. The latest generation is arguably the best yet – with this new titanium-crafted version proving the perfect balance of Italian craftsmanship and Swiss precision.

The sparse use of the markers on this sandwich dial allows for a new material to illuminate the dial at night. The Super-LumiNova® X2 guarantees enhanced brightness and a long, vivid glow that makes reading the time a complete cinch at night or when underwater. The enlarged and bevelled date display is clean and simple, contributing to the dial’s clutter-free dial layout. Of course, a lightweight variation of the Luminor Marina with these movement and dimension updates is going to give collectors a valid reason to upgrade this year.

The new Panerai Luminor Marina Titanio watch features a stunning sun-brushed green dial and a beautiful suede calfskin strap that gives the Marina a whole new, vintage-esque edge, paying homage to the brand’s military heritage. If that wasn’t enough, the watch comes with an additional green rubber strap for plenty of underwater exploration.

Luminor Marina on Bracelet

The introduction of a newly designed metal bracelet for the Luminor Marina marks the bold evolution of the collection. The V-shaped bracelet tapers in a seamless fashion, enabling it to sit comfortably on the wrist. Another first for the collection is the “PAM Click” system, enabling you to swap two straps and buckles without requiring any additional strap-changing tools. It’s a great little feature to have in any Panerai watch, especially those that come with an additional strap for added versatility. The Panerai Luminor Marina on bracelet comes in a stunning sun-brushed light blue dial with the signature small seconds sub-dial taking residence at its usual spot at 9 o’clock.

Inside the new Panerai Luminor Marina models is the new in-house developed movement – the Calibre P.980, which was engineered solely for endurance and precision. There’s a three-day power reserve to enjoy, which is pretty standard for a Panerai, along with a traversing balance bridge for better shock resistance. The newly redesigned Luminor Marina now features a sapphire caseback too!
