If you've been following TAG Heuer’s every move online or via its Instagram posts, you’ll know by now that the Carrera line is getting a thorough update. It’s been a long time coming for the simple three-handed Carrera watches, which, as of Watches & Wonders 2025, now come in dial colours of opaline black, smoky red, Carrera blue, and grained black, complete with a day-date complication at 3 o’clock. But the new TAG Heuer Carrera Date Twin Time is an altogether new look for the line thanks to its intense green-blue dial. It features a very discreet speedometer-like styling too, while the entrancing teal colour is by far the talking point. The new Carrera Twin Time is fresh-looking, superseding the previous blue dial by a country mile.

That previous model, the reference WBN201A.BA0640, featured a red-tipped GMT hand, an inverted 24-hour track in two colours, and a reliable Sellita-based movement. This new release for Watches and Wonders 2025, however, boasts a new GMT hand and an upgraded movement for better all-round performance and legibility.

Let’s cover a few key points about the new TAG Heuer Carrera Twin Time watch. It now sports a design with a super high dose of racing spirit, while its red accents warm the wearer to a new dual timekeeping concept. The new movement, developed in collaboration with AMT, can offer a staggering 80 hours of power reserve, so as long as you don’t forget about this sports watch for any large lengths of time (and who would?). It propels a set of straight hands around the dial, as well as a red-coated GMT hand with a beautifully tapered finish, enabling you to differentiate it from the main timekeeping hands at a glance.

The minimalist design of the simple three-handed Carrera has done very well over the years but it’s not for everyone. Sometimes, a collector just wants a watch with a little more technical sophistication, and the new Carrera Twin Time has that aplenty. The new release still has that nice old-world charm but, at the same time, the dashes of vibrant petrol and British racing green tones are a real treat, tying in nicely with the brand’s recent announcement of returning to the role of the official timekeeper for F1.

The gorgeous satin-silky tones of the new teal Twin Time Carrera watch are nothing short of spectacular. The cut-out for the date window at 6 o’clock adds a pleasing dose of symmetry to the dial, while the central hands and hour markers have been treated with Super-LumiNova, allowing them to glow long into the evenings following a day spent at the races. The two-tone 24-hour track is a nice touch and one that follows on from the blue and white one seen in the original. And if you liked the case of the blue reference, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. TAG Heuer experts have kept the same proportions for the new-for-2025 Carrera Twin Time, measuring a diameter of 41mm.

Despite some subtle changes to the GMT hand, the dial colour and the movement, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Twin Time is still an incredible-looking sports watch, boasting bucketloads of appeal and nostalgia. Its 100-meter water-resistant case, topped with a strong piece of sapphire crystal, attaches to a stylish H-link bracelet with quick-release bars that allow for quick strap changes whenever the mood suits. Whether heading out for a meeting or joining friends at the side of the racetrack, the Twin Time watch, with its polished edges, is refined and primed for every eventuality.

The Calibre TH31-03, which sits inside the new TAG Heuer Carrera Twin Time watch in teal, is a nice upgrade from the previous Calibre 7, promising a better power reserve and some beautiful Cotes de Geneve decoration worth admiring through the watch’s sapphire exhibition caseback.
