Oris Divers Sixty Five Movember Edition Watch Review
Thursday - 05 October 2017
In collaboration with the Movember Foundation, founded back in 2003 to help men live a healthier life, Oris have launched a special edition of the Divers Sixty-Five. The brand are proudly raising awareness of health issues that men are constantly faced with both physically and emotionally. The foundation supports charities that focus on prostrate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The partnership is an integral part of Oris’ Change for the Better campaign, with the new Divers Sixty Five model joining the likes of the Staghorn Restoration Limited Edition and the Hammerhead Limited Edition.
Revisiting the legendary Divers Sixty-Five, Oris incorporate design features that link to the international men’s health organisation. The Movember moustache logo is heat-stamped into the brown leather strap at 12 and 6 o’clock; a direct yet subtle reference to the foundation that encourages men to grow moustaches in November to raise the profile of mens health. The case back also features an inscription of the moustache symbol as well as the words ‘Oris Movember Edition.’ Oris have successfully incorporated the significant cause into a timepiece that a stylish, contemporary gent would love to wear. The charm of the 1960’s model remains with a nod to the amazing work of the organisation.
The gold edged indices and hands contrast elegantly against the black dial of the heritage piece creating a sophisticated design. The new model is available with a striped red, beige and blue nato strap for a retro feel.
Oris will donate a percentage of the sales to the foundation to help the organisation to continue their vital research and support important programmes. In addition, Oris will be holding events starting on 1st November to support Movember - the Oris Shave Off is held at The Nomad Barber in Shoreditch London where the experts will be giving free shaves to people taking part in Movember.
