Oris collaborates with the United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance to form an official alliance.
Recognised as Force Recon, the company is one of the elite US Special Forces units that performs special operations. Their missions take place behind enemy lines to supply military intelligence to Marine Air-Ground Task Forces. The courageous expeditions delve deep outside of ally territory to gather information about enemy presence on both sea and land; a dangerous and brave act performed by expertly trained special agents.
The collaboration has led to an Oris masterpiece that is specifically designed to meet the high standards set by the unit - introducing the Oris Force Recon GMT. The powerful instrument is an adaptation of the ProDiver, which was recognised for its Oris-developed Rotation Safety System - an innovative feature that locks the bezel into place according to the wearer’s requirements.
The spectacular timekeeper features a second time zone, which is read via the central hand and a subtle mint green 24-hour scale circling the dial. Positioned at 9 o’clock is a unique small seconds display, which conveniently indicates that the device is operating in restricted lighting. A robust aesthetic is enhanced by the tough black DLC coating treatment on the 49mm titanium case. The unidirectional rotating bezel inlay is manufactured in a scratch-resistant matt black ceramic. The black rubber strap fastens with the quick-adjustment sliding sledge folding clasp enabling for the timepiece to be adjusted for comfort when secured to the wrist; a feature that Oris is proud to have pioneered.
To celebrate the alliance the Force Recon emblem is marked at 6 o’clock on the front dial and proudly engraved on the case back. The dramatic, oversized features gives a masculine and strong character to the timepiece that would be a faithful companion on the most complicated and dangerous of missions.
