If you are unaware of the modelling sensation Cara Delevingne then you possibly ‘need to get out more’. Cara, the 5’ 8” English model, has gained worldwide prominence in the world of fashion. She is often seen sashaying along the catwalks of Milan and Paris. Her pulchritudinous looks are mesmerising to behold and she has worked for such illustrious names as Moschino, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Victoria’s Secret.
Ms Delevingne has also revealed she is a consummate actor and musician. The 22 year-old is a young lady which many females wish to emulate and the brilliant lustre which accompanies her wherever she goes shows no signs of waning any time soon.
Earlier this year, TAG Heuer, a brand synonymous with making avant-garde timepieces, announced that Ms Delevingne had joined its family of ambassadors. The selection of this model, actress, musician and “It girl” has been accompanied with an eye-catching advertising campaign featuring Cara striking one of her legendary ‘funny faces’.
TAG Heuer, led by Jean-Claude Biver, the charismatic Company CEO and President of the Watch Division of the LVMH Group, recently launched a special edition watch designed for Cara Delevingne. This timepiece features within the brand’s iconic Carrera Collection.
Taking a first glance at the watch, one is struck by its striking mien. The 41mm timepiece is constructed of titanium carbide-treated 316L steel which evinces a sultry, black hue. Glamour is very much the order of the day with several variants available, including some versions sporting diamond set bezels. The would-be purchaser can choose traditional white diamonds to grace their luxurious timepiece or wholeheartedly embrace modernity with black diamonds.
A sense of occasion is delivered in abundance, courtesy of the rose-gold plated faceted and applied hour markers which deliver a wonderful warmth to the dial canvas. The hour, minutes and central seconds hands share the same rose-gold tones. Moreover, the hour and minute hands are detailed with white Superluminova™, enhancing visibility in restricted light.
The watch is available on a matching steel bracelet. However, I found myself especially drawn to the padded calfskin strap with its very own, individual aesthetic. The strap option is paired with a titanium carbide-treated deployant, aiding ease of removal and conferring greater longevity.
Convenience is accorded with the inclusion of a quartz movement requiring minimal input on the wearer’s part, proving ideal when a hectic social life sometimes precludes taking time out to manually wind the watch.
Gracing the rear of this vivacious watch is an artistic depiction of a lion, stamped onto the surface of the case. The lion has become a trademark of Ms Delevingne, and refers to the star sign under which she was born.
