TAG Heuer Special Edition Watch Review
Thursday - 07 May 2015
TAG Heuer have launched three special editions in honour of DJ sensation David Guetta, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo and professional basketball player Jeremy Lin as their new ambassadors.
Each timepiece is exclusively designed with the muse in mind to produce striking and unique masterpieces that stand out as a dedication to the talented icon.
TAG Heuer Watch Formula 1 CR7 Chronograph
The Cristiano Ronaldo Special Edition presents a bold green shade that is an obvious reference to the football pitch where the player’s immense talent is witnessed. Matched against a strong black chequered dial and case the watch takes on a masculine, assertive character. The white CR7 that is positioned at 3 o’clock is a reference to Cristiano Ronaldo’s initials and player’s number. The NATO strap in the vibrant green and black colour combination provides the edition with a necessary sporty feel alongside the oversized black bezel.

Jeremy Lin was a natural choice for the brand with his “angelic smile, youthful visage and powerful physique.” The striking timepiece is illuminated with hints of yellow for a unique visual aesthetic with the crystal gasket, second and minute hands and seams of the strap adopting the colour effortlessly. The inspiration is subtly witnessed with the basketball positioned at 9 o’clock that features his initials and lucky number 7 and the 17th minute marker indicates his jersey number. Again, the timepiece projects a sporty, modern feel with it’s twelve-sided bezel, six studs and ceramic ring.
Jeremy Lin states: “I’m excited to introduce my first watch with TAG Heuer. It mirrors me perfectly.”

The Special Edition will set pulses racing with the vivid blue that encompasses the lower half on the bezel and the strong hands and markers; a reference to the volume of music that the DJ plays. TAG Heuer are excited to announce David Guetta as the new ambassador with his history of being one of the first DJs to launch electronic music on a global scale. The timepiece is created for the traveller with the GMT functions and “day/night” symbol, which may mirror Guetta’s lifestyle playing music internationally as the night becomes day. The 24 hour display is showcased with the daytime hours (6am-6pm) indicated in blue and the night time hours (6pm-6am) displayed in black; partying till dusk to dawn!! The choice of colours are perfect for the clubbing scene with a striking, contemporary aesthetic.
