Top 2021 Ladies Watch Releases
Thursday - 24 June 2021
Prestigious watchmakers from all around the world have truly defined what makes a good women’s watch this year. The Watches & Wonders 2021 event has been the catalyst for some extraordinary ladies watches, from open heart models, to exquisite diamond-set dress watches to the simple and wear-ready three-handed date models. Let’s take a look at some of the best watches for ladies 2021, outlined here by us at Jura Watches this year…
The Bremont Solo Lady K collection
There’s no arguing with the fact that non-gender watches are reaffirming a need for individuality across the watch industry. One could argue they are, in fact, the way forward. Others would disagree and say that there’s simply no beating an iced lady’s watch, showered in scintillating diamonds. And if diamond watches are indeed your bang, the new Bremont Solo Lady K watch range will certainly sing to you. For the first time, Bremont releases a 60-diamond-set watch as part of its new venture – to focus closely on its range of women’s watches for 2021.
The new Bremont Solo Lady K range honours traditional watchmaking, whilst celebrating the fire and brilliance of the classic diamond. Twisting the wrist with a diamond-drenched bezel like this attached to it playfully catches the light, creating a whole new take on timekeeping for the modern woman. Women’s watches from Bremont are going to resonate with those who can appreciate the provenance and reputation behind the British brand. The watchmaker has gone to great lengths to establish itself in the specialist field of mechanical pilot’s watches and aviation-inspired timepieces. But whilst these are some of the most notable, Bremont has also collaborated with the British car manufacturer, Jaguar, and partnered with ejection seat specialists Martin Baker, not to mention developing its first limited edition women’s watch last year in ode to Professor Stephen Hawking.
Still, the new Bremont Solo Lady K watches are a sight to behold, and not just for the fact that they’re the first 60-diamond set watches in a mainline collection, but because they are meticulously crafted, with many fine examples of attention to detail throughout. The newcomer to the Solo range capitalises on the Hawking Quantum model but brings a touch more elegance and femininity to the party. It’s available in two mother of pearl dial options, a white and a Tahitian. Unlike the Hawking Quantum, the watches won’t cease production at 88 pieces, they’re accessible to anyone who desires one. While the nacre dials of each timepiece are a clear nod to the Bremont brothers’ adventure-seeking mother, Nick and Giles English have also focused the design on principles of strength, robustness and precision. Of course, Bremont watches are all about the mechanical mastery behind their beautiful dials. In that same vein, each model is sealed with a sapphire crystal glass caseback, showcasing the arrangement of the movement and its beautiful performance through the underside of the watch.
Harvested from a mollusc’s inner shell, the mother of pearl dials seen in the new Bremont Solo Lady K range shine in iridescent lilac, pink and creamy hues as they catch the light. Picking up on the maritime undertones of the watch and its connection with Nick and Giles’ fathers who lovingly handcrafted a boat for their mother, the diamonds in both the white and Tahitian mother of pearl dials are clearly the star of the show in these two new ladies watch releases for 2021.
The Frederique Constant Highlife for women collection
Frederique Constant’s 2021 watches and wonders releases this year brought with it a new Highlife collection for women. The new models from the luxury sports watch collection are available in steel or rose gold plated and come in a 34mm case size with an interchangeable bracelet made in-house at the manufacturer’s facilities. There’s also a diamond and none-gem-set variation, alongside a simple three handed-date model and a Heart Beat version.
It was back in September 2020 when Frederique Constant released its Highlife collection for men. Now with both male and female options available, it’s clear that Frederique Constant remains one of the few contenders within the affordable watches sector that is actually creating wristwatches to such a high standard for their price range. Like the men’s collection, the ladies Frederique Constant Highlife models feature a see-through caseback on the rear of each model, showcasing their respective movements. The three-handed models are powered by the Calibre FC-303 automatic movement, while the Heart Beat model is powered by the FC-310. Both engines offer a 38-hour power reserve. Half-moon facets are connected to each end of the watch’s cushion-shaped case, and feature a polished bezel.
Among our favourites for the best women’s watches for 2021, the 34mm Frederique Constant Highlife three-handed women’s collection is a stunning debut for the brand, showcasing distinct hallmarks like its H-shaped link bracelet and an accompanying rubber strap for switching the model over to a sportier number when desired. The four current options on offer are a standard steel version with a grey dial and blue rubber strap. The second version is a steel model with a black dial and diamond dot indexes around the hour track, sold with an additional khaki rubber strap. The third is a steel model featuring a glistening diamond-set bezel boasting a total of 60 diamonds and a navy-blue dial, adorned with diamond dot indexes. A white rubber strap provides a modern yet sporty alternative to the already fitted metal bracelet on this limited-to-888-pieces model. The last of the four is an indulgent rose gold plated case with a white dial, diamond-set indexes and a diamond-set bezel. The watch comes with an additional pink rubber strap. All models feature a globe-etched design at the centre of their dials, a date window at 3 o’clock and luminous hands for easy readability.
The 34mm Frederique Constant Highlife Heart Beat models do exactly as they say on the tin. They showcase the jewelled mechanism of the watch through the bonnet. A stainless steel and a two-tone steel and rose gold plated version feature a white dial with the open-heart disc situated at 12 o’clock under a domed sapphire crystal glass front. Both models are 50-meter water-resistant and again fitted on an interchangeable bracelet with an additional rubber strap provided.
