The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT Gets a Revamp

TAG Heuer is synonymous with the world of motorsport, but it also has a superb range of dive watches. The Aquaracer line was given a full makeover just a few years back, giving the design a sportier and more modern design. Experts at the manufacturer’s ateliers have now added more changes to the Aquaracer Professional 300, adding to the already popular three-handed model and the trendy travel-friendly kind. Meet the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT watches of 2024.

The Aquaracer watch has always been a solid offering in the realm of dive watches. The reality is that a watch with underwater capabilities and a dual time function does prove pretty practical, even for those that don’t even travel all that often. A GMT watch is defined by its 12-hour track and an additional 24-hour scale, either on the dial or the bezel. The triangular-tipped GMT hand on the dial works in combination with this 24-hour scale, showing an additional time zone that can be handy for keeping an eye on home time while travelling abroad. The current time at your destination can then be read from the central hands.

The thing is, you don’t need to be a regular traveller to enjoy the functionality of the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT watch, just like you don’t need to be a diver to make use out of its aquatic capacities. The fact that dive watches are so robust and stylish is a complete bonus. It explains why so many enthusiasts collect this style of watch, regardless of whether they dive or not.

If You’re Interested in the Aquaracer Professional 300 Date Watches…

If you’ve already checked out the new Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watches from TAG Heuer and you like them, you’ll be pleased to know that the GMT versions share the same design evolution as these. The new Date versions feature a case downsize of 1mm, measuring a total diameter of 42mm and the brand also gives the watches smaller lug-to-lug lengths and a thinner case depth. Overall, these changes make a world of difference on the wrist. The brand equips the Date watches with a physique that has been finely sculpted for boundless exploration, achieving remarkable performance with a reliable Sellita-modified movement at its heart and lashings of luminescent material on the dial. To enhance legibility, designers at TAG Heuer have chosen a wave-like dial pattern that benefits from a lacquered finish, enhancing a sense of depth and dimension across its surface. A discreet change has also been made to the hour hand. Its tapering profile now echoes the shape of the brand’s shield logo. The colours of the new Professional 300 Date watches are also aquatically inspired. Available in blue, black and green, each dial has a contrasting second hand and features a date aperture under a cyclops window for added legibility. If all those features sound appealing, read on to find out what TAG Heuer has done with the new Professional 300 GMT watches.

The New TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT Watches

Similar to the three-handed date models, the new Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT watches from TAG Heuer measure 42mm and are built for the modern explorer. Their daring and confident case designs are bold, chiselled and robust-looking. You can choose between two colour options for this new release; a blue and black or a green and black. The colours interact with one another beautifully in the design of the bezel, which is split to define the daylight hours and nighttime hours. The two-tone bezel, crafted from ceramic is also scratch-resistant and colour fade-resistant. The 24-hour GMT scale upon the coloured surface can easily be read alongside the GMT hand to track an additional time zone.

Unlike some hands seen in GMT watches, where just the tip is finished in a contrasting colour, the triangular-tipped 24-hour hand of this new watch is executed in a full block of colour that corresponds to the dial (blue for the blue and black version and green for the green and black version). The feature is accompanied by legible hour markers and hands that have been treated with lashings of Super-LumiNova to aid legibility underwater or while travelling at night. These features, along with a date window under a cyclops glass at 6 o’clock, are protected by a shield of scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass.

Similar to the new Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watches, the blue version is offered on a choice of two straps, while the green version is fitted on a stainless steel bracelet only. The steel bracelet secures to the wrist with a folding clasp, as does, the blue-coloured rubber band option, along with a push-button mechanism and a fine adjustment system that compensates for expansion and contraction of the wrist in different scenarios. The buckle of each strap, whether metal or rubber, is engraved with the TAG Heuer shield logo. Turn the case over and you’ll see another familiar engraving. The TAG Heuer diver’s helmet logo, conceals the performance of a reliable automatic movement. The self-winding TH31-03 is capable of 28,800 vibrations per hour and comes with an extended five-year warranty. Head on over to the crown at 3 o’clock on the case and this too has been modified for an easier grip. Each element of these new designs is centred around a more tactile, smooth and harmonious operation of its key features.

Whether you’re facing the heat of the rising sun in mid-afternoon or travelling long into the night, the newly designed Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT watch from TAG Heuer is designed to make your experience more comfortable, convenient and stylish. While legibility, water resistance and accuracy will always be pillars of the Aquaracer watch collection, there is no denying that the evolution of this diving watch is now more appealing to the everyday collector than ever before.
