Baume et Mercier unleash a dynamic, fierce contender into the fold. The Baume et Mercier Clifton Club Shelby Cobra Limited Edition is a masterpiece that captures the spirit of an icon.
Inspired by the legendary Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, the unique sun satin-finished dial is divided to echo the half blue/half silver Daytona tail. Designed by Peter Brock himself - one of the greatest automative designers of our lifetime and the man responsible for the stunning design of the iconic racing car - the bi-colour dial brings the spirit of the sport to the watch platform. The hint of red adds to the speed intensity especially the 196mph marking found just below 3 o’clock on the tachymeter - a tribute to the speed record achieved by the iconic automobile at Le Mans in 1964. A figure honoured by the amount of timepieces manufactured by Baume et Mercier.
The Cobra logo is cleverly moulded to the tip of the bright red seconds hand cementing the influence further and to mark the Shelby brand. To control the chronograph functions replicas of the foot pedals are positioned either side of the crown. The lightweight, highly resistant stainless steel and titanium case features the Cobra insignia on the opposite side to again dedicate the exclusive watch to the racing brand.
The case back design emulates the Daytona Couple’s iconic wheel with cut out sections to showcase the beautiful Swiss-made manufacture self-winding movement with flyback chronograph function. The breathtaking design is finished with a vivid blue “automative carbon-like” calfskin strap with black rubberised soft-touch calfskin lining and red stitching.
