Sinn Unveils the EZM 1.1 S 25th Anniversary Limited Edition

Sinn extends its mission timer collection with a black hard-coated steel model measuring 42mm. The new EZM 1.1 S is a limited edition of 500 pieces, designed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Sinn’s first mission timer and comes equipped with advanced technologies to ensure it is fully field-proof and ready for action
Ever since its conception in 1961, Sinn has been specialising in developing navigation cockpit clocks, along with tool watches destined for the wrists of firefighters, special units of the German police department, doctors, rescue workers, pilots, divers, and members of the armed forces like the GSG 9 or Germany’s commando frogman force KSM. This special collection of instruments developed to stand in the face of such challenges is known as the Sinn EZM 1. The collection was first developed in 1991 and has since expanded – each one, however, with functionality at the forefront of its design. These accurate and robust tools are known as mission timers and now welcome a new model into the category – the limited-edition EZM 1.1 S. It celebrates 25 years of this special mission timer and is exclusive to just 500 pieces worldwide.
To deliver essential time-related information whilst in the most adverse of conditions, the new Sinn EZM 1.1 S is equipped with some of the German manufacturer’s most cutting-edge technology. Its ultra-strong design is fortified by a black hard coating upon the exterior of its case and comes integrated with the brand’s Ar‑Dehumidifying technology, which resists any fogging of the glass. To accompany this feature, Sinn’s Temperature Resistance technology ensures the watch will function as it should do whilst subject to harsh temperature fluctuation between –45°C and +80°C. One other advanced feature of the new Sinn EZM 1.1 S watch is its jump 60-minute stop hand featured on the dial’s centre. This enables stop times to be recorded more easily, quickly and accurately. To do this, 60 minutes are counted in one sweep of the hand instead of 30 minutes, whilst the minute stop scale covers the entire surface of the dial. The case
You don’t have to be coping with daily life-threatening missions to enjoy the accuracy, robustness and reliability of the new Sinn EZM 1.1 S watch. No two mission timers by Sinn have ever been the same, so it makes perfect sense that the design of each EZM 1 watch is incredibly collectable to any Sinn watch fan. This new 25th anniversary limited edition EZM 1 watch measures 42mm and has been crafted from bead-blasted stainless steel. Its surface is enhanced in terms of strength thanks to Sinn’s TEGIMENT black hard coating. Equipped with the aforementioned Ar‑Dehumidifying to prevent any undesirable fogging, the watch is also functional between adversely low and high temperatures and comes equipped with a water resistance of 200 meters. Its push-pieces with D3-System are located at 8 and 10 o’clock for effortless control over the chronograph features, whilst the back of the case is screw-fastened to uphold the model’s impressive water-resistant capability.
Its sapphire crystal glass front is integrated with scratch-resistant and anti-reflective properties to grant a clear view into the watch’s highly legible dial and the model also comes with a captive countdown pilot’s bezel with minute ratcheting. The bezel can be rotated in both directions but has been designed in such a way that it is virtually impossible to ever detach from the case. Lastly, the clever positioning of the push-pieces on the left side of the case prevents the watch from snagging and prevent pressure on the back of the hand. Without a doubt, the design of this new Sinn EZM 1.1 S 25th anniversary limited edition watch can withstand a great deal, including conditions where it may be met head-on with wetness, magnetism, extreme heat and cold, major changes in temperature, vibrations, impact and knocks as well as aggressive liquids such as saltwater.
The movement
Inside the rugged 200-meter water-resistant black hard-coated steel case of the new Sinn mission timer is the Sinn SZ01 chronograph movement, which, as explained features a jump 60-minute stop hand from the dial centre. The movement is based on the successful Concepto C99001 Calibre and bears a total of 28 jewels. It performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and includes anti-magnetic elements to help resist the damaging effect of magnetic fields.
The dial
The matte black dial of the new Sinn EZM 1.1 S watch is adorned with indices around the hour and minute track that have been doused in plenty of luminous materials for assisted timekeeping in the dark or during the night. The hour and minute hands too have been treated with the same material, as have the tips of the stopwatch minute and second hand. This field-proof dial design is created for optimal readability, with muted red elements that enable the essential features of the dial to jump out in life-threatening situations.
Lastly, in each set, complete with an authentic Sinn presentation box, the new Sinn EZM 1.1 S 25th anniversary limited edition watch comes on a black silicone strap with an additional brown leather band for transforming its look on the wrist.
