Rado continually strive for innovation to create unique, exclusive pieces that represent the Swiss brand. Baselworld 2017 was no different with a series of Limited Edition’s born from collaborations with design enthusiasts. The results are incredible with truly exquisite revelations that capture Rado’s identity with a sense of newness and drive to evolve the brand further. Each apply their concept to the popular True model marrying their artistic vision with the simplicity of Rado.

Rado True Blaze

A stunning glittering dial is the result of Rado’s partnership with American Interior Designer, Sam Amoia. Limited to 1001 pieces, the timepiece embraces the glamour of celebration via the disco ball-esque dial. The floating gold coloured logo and indexes ensure that the minimalist Rado spirit remains intact hovering above the explosion of glitter; a textured metallic structure realised by a galvanic process that replicates the crystalline structure of diamond powder. An understated, timeless piece with a powerful grandeur aesthetic.

Collaborating with Big-Game design studio - a creative trio that pair functionality with simplicity - the limited edition plays with light and minimalism. The perforated black brass dial exposes the Swiss automatic movement in a completely different way to a traditional skeleton dial; a platform that welcomes the luminescent indexes. Super-LumiNova fill the empty spaces to form geometric shapes - a beautiful, modern approach framed in the matt black high-tech ceramic case.

Co-developed with Austrian designer, Rainer Mutsch further explores the meaning of minimalism. The black dial welcomes the asymmetrically arranged descending steps creating an incredible 3D effect that alters due to the light creating new reflections and gradients.  The textured watch face features an electric pop of yellow via the logo and second hand that stands out against the high-tech ceramic matt black surfaces. Catch a glimpse of the automatic movement via the sapphire glass window. Overall, the design combines Mutsch’s design ethos bringing elegance, precision and simplicity to the forefront creating the perfect partnership.
