Montblanc Summit 2 Smartwatch Review

With Montblanc having already established themselves as one of the finest manufacturer’s in Switzerland, not only for their fountain pens but leather goods and watches, it was only a matter of time before they ventured into the world of wearables and released their own Montblanc smartwatch. Designed to be your connected companion for a life of travel, health and exploration, the Montblanc Summit 2 beautifully combines Swiss watchmaking tradition with state of the art technology.

The Montblanc Summit 2 smartwatch is available in a stunning selection of designs with options available for both men and women. Case materials come in stainless steel, black steel, brown steel, rose gold, titanium or two-toned while straps are available in brown, black, green or pink leather, black rubber or black or blue nylon. Aside from the case and strap material, each Montblanc smartwatch follows suit with a 42mm case that delivers the same authentic feeling of a classic Montblanc watch but with all the latest features of Wear OS by Google.

Just as we have come to expect from Montblanc, the Montblanc Summit 2 watch features the brand’s legendary star logo on the rotating crown, a motif that has come to symbolise the brand’s high quality craftsmanship and technical prowess. The crown is paired with two addition pushers inspired by the brand’s iconic 1858 chronograph while one of the many customisable watch faces also reflects this design. Other customisable watch faces include sporty, feminine and fitness options.

Whether you are a fitness fanatic, a worldwide traveller or an urban explorer, the Montblanc Summit 2 smartwatch promises only the best technologies to help you stay ahead of your adventures. It is the first smartwatch in the world to feature the new Snapdragon 3100 processor by Qualcomm which promises better performance, improved battery management and access to new features. Only the highest quality materials are used to create each Montblanc Summit 2 watch including scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass renowned for its durability and legibility to protect the 1.2” display and a glass and fibreglass resin case back with heart rate sensor water resistant to 50 metres.

The unique Timeshifter app is one of our favourite features of the Montblanc Summit 2 and will likely be yours too if you are an avid traveller. It provides personalised advice for long-stint travellers with jet lag. This advice can range from looking at bright lights and drinking caffeine to getting an early nights sleep. Montblanc have stated that all advice given is based on proven science and is even used by astronauts and elite athletes who need to adapt to other time zones. The Travel Info app also makes travelling simpler, providing you with all the relevant local information you need including currency rates, taxi fares and basic words and phrases.

For fitness enthusiasts, the exclusive Montblanc Running Coach app analyses your fitness and health goal. The integrated live coach encourages you to reach the right pace and put it the right amount of effort to reach your target while the Running Coach watch face helps by giving you a visualization of your current fitness levels and your heart rate. Altimeter, accelerometer, and gyroscope sensors also assist during workouts while for rest days make use out of the handy microphone sensor and contactless NFC payment system.
