Meet the Louis Erard Excellence Regulateur Aventurine, Lapis Lazuli and Malachite watches

The Geneva Watch Days 2021 showcases three new Excellence Regulateur watches from Louis Eevent rard, with rare dials crafted from exquisite materials – each limited to just 99 pieces worldwide.

The celebration of all things horological continues this year after great success in 2020. The Geneva Watch Days 2021 event will see some 20 luxury watch brands comes together to showcase new launches from the likes of Arnold & Son, Bianchet, Czapek, Doxa, Ferdinand Berthoud, Frederique Constant Group, Louis Erard, Maurice Lacroix, Parmigiani, Phillips, Oris and many more. The non-profit association was founded by benefactor brands that include Bvlgari, Breitling, Girard-Perregaux, and Ulysse Nardin to list but a few. As part of this multi-brand event, Louis Erard is releasing a trio of beautifully coloured Excellence Régulateur watches. Jura Watches is proud to be one of the very few stockists worldwide to cover these new releases, fresh out of Louis Erard’s press and marketing department.

You’re going to have to be pretty quick to get your hands on the three new Louis Erard Excellence Regulateur watches, with numbers expected to sell swiftly. Each timepiece - whether the Aventurine dial, the Lapis Lazuli display or the Malachite dial – is limited to just 99 pieces worldwide. They depict woodland pastures, starry night skies and early dawns with their striking colours. Each of the three new Louis Erard watch releases are powered by the Sellita SW266-1 self-winding movement, with a performance of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of 38 hours to provide. The automatic movement also boasts elaborately decorated architecture, together with an open-worked oscillating weight engraved with the Louis Erard logo that can be admired through a see-through sapphire crystal glass caseback.

The similarities between all three of the new Louis Erard Excellence Regulateur watches can also be appreciated in a 42mm stainless steel case, integrated with 50-meter water resistance. Each case is topped with an anti-glare and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front. This domed glass lens protects the surface of the glass and stone dials, shielding them from the damaging effects caused by factors such as heat, moisture and light. The back of each case has been engraved with the watch’s individual serial number produced as part of a limited series of 99 pieces. Each timepiece also shares the same dial layout, with the main hour sub-dial located off-centre at 12 o’clock, balanced by a small second sub-dial at 6 o’clock. This leaves the central minute hand to occupy the main dial space, depicted by a detailed minute track around the edge of each display. The differences between all three Excellence Regulateur watches, however, are visible in the colour, moods and textures of each captivating dial and the shade of the calf nubuck leather straps that adorn each instrument. We’ll take a look at these now…

The Celestial One

Fragments of earth are suspended in the dial of this mesmerising deep blue Aventurine version of the new Excellence Regulateur series. Its sparkling inclusions are only enhanced all the more by the slender hands carved out for the independent sections depicting minutes, hours and seconds. Venetian glass-blowers in the 17th century first highlighted the beauty of the shimmering material, which donates celestial-inspired elements to the display of this new Loui Erard watch. Whether you see a moonless blanket of stars over the top of the Jura Mountains in this watch or a breath-taking meteor shower - the stark contrast between the deep midnight blue backdrop of this display and the crisp Louis Erard lettering at 3 o’clock provides a very unique way to read the time. The watch is completed on a calf nubuck leather band in deep blue, enclosing with a stainless steel pin buckle. The strap can also be changed swiftly with another alternative should you wish.

The Early Dawn One

The Louis Erard Excellence Regulateur watch crafted from a Lapis Lazuli dial represents the blue hour that happens between the night and a new day. The cerulean blue metamorphic rock appears speckled in effect thanks to silicate inclusions. The stone has long been associated with inner peace and has survived millions of years – its alluring blue hue considered even rarer than gold. The Louis Erard Excellence Regulateur Lapis Lazuli watch is completed on an “Oceania” blue calf nubuck leather strap and secures once again with a traditionally-styled pin buckle fastening crafted from stainless steel.

The Woodland Pastures One

Louis Erard chooses beautiful Malachite to present the time on with this version of the Excellence Regulateur watch. The surface of the dial has been beautifully brushed by the hands of talented German artist, Gerhard Richter. Adding depth to the design is the special stone’s association with positive energy which has featured in luxurious watch designs since the 1960s. The finish of the dial in this iteration provides a resolutely modern twist for collectors to enjoy. The design is enhanced by a matching “Basilico” green calf nubuck leather band with a steel pin buckle.
