Good enough to eat - Oris releases the Divers Sixty-Five watch in Cotton Candy Colours of Sky Blue, Wild Green and Lipstick Pink, wrapped in a stunning 38mm bronze casing.
A new trio of fascinating colours transforms the Oris Divers Sixty-Five watch into carnival colours. Measuring a unisex 38mm diameter, the watch will appeal to various wrist sizes, as will the punchy pastel colours. The watches share properties synonymous with the highly desirable Divers Sixty-Five watch collection. These include a robust housing, impressive water resistance and legible dial details along with an easy to facilitate bezel that rotates. Whilst their colours are a far cry from those previously seen throughout the Divers Sixty-Five watch collection, what makes the watches look even more unique in appearance is their eye-catching bronze outfits. Their matching bronze bracelets not only enhance the gentlemanly dimensions of their cases but follow in the footsteps of the Oris Holstein Edition 2020, with screws on the edges of the links as opposed to faux rivets and plates.
The character-building case material
The peppy pastel dial colours of the new Oris Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy watches come just in time for Spring. Whilst these shades may be playful, Oris compromises on nothing when it comes to ensuring these watches are ready for accompanying the wrists of adventure-seeking individuals. The intentionally unisex 38mm size of their cases ring true to the Swiss brand’s vintage 1960s watches of a bygone era. The design features an unguarded pillbox crown, tapered lugs and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a full diving scale executed in relief.
As with other previous Oris diver’s watches made from bronze, the grooves and faceted edges of the diving indexes will, no doubt, evolve over time, as will the rest of the case. This is because bronze is a case material that gradually and naturally changes its patina as it comes into contact with the elements, adding to (rather than detracting from) its unique character. The choice of case material certainly makes for an interesting inflection point. In addition to their unidirectional rotating bezels and 100-meter water resistance, the new Oris Divers Sixty-Five watches are also fitted with other robust screw-down elements. These include a screw-in crown and a screw-down caseback crafted from stainless steel and finished with special engravings depicting the Oris name. Furthermore, the sapphire crystal glass on the front of the case is domed and treated with anti-reflective technology on both sides.
A pastel pallete
The new Oris Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy watches present the time in shades of blue, green and pink. To be more precise, the colours go by the name of Sky Blue, Wild Green and Lipstick Pink. The applied diver indices and the pointed baton hands are lighter in character compared to previous models, but in-keeping with the warming bronze tones of the case. Of course, these have been treated with a layer of Super-LumiNova for effortless timekeeping in the dark. Although not equipped to withstand daring underwater depths, the unidirectional rotating bezel can measure elapsed time efficiently for assisting with a myriad of tasks. The dials of the new Cotton Candy Oris watches are all equipped with legible date windows at 6 o’clock, dressed against bright white backgrounds to enhance readability.
The Oris 733 Calibre
The Oris 733 movement powers the new Oris Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy watches. Based on the Sellita SW200-1, it offers a 38-hour power reserve and beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Cleverly, to prevent the contact of bronze patina against the wearer's skin (similar to the use of the stainless steel caseback), the classic-looking three-link bracelet completing the watch is treated with a special coating and secures with a folding clasp.
