Bell & across unveils a golden skeletonised version of the BR 05 watch collection, complete with matching golden movement components and a choice between a stylish amber rubber strap or an integrated stainless steel bracelet
If you have a soft spot for simple three-handed time and date watches, you may have turned to the Bell & Ross BR 05 watch collection before now. Belonging to the Urban series, there are three main sub-categories: The BR 05 Auto – the aforementioned time and date model, the BR 05 Chrono for measuring elapsed time and the BR-05 GMT for utilising whilst on the go. But there are also the Skeleton models from the Bell & Ross BR 05 watch collection, dedicated to showing off all the complexities and finest parts of the engines sitting within their designs. As a general rule, the watches from the line feature classic pilot watch-inspired dials, like indexes around the hour track and prominent Arabic numerals at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, not to mention an integrated bracelet that completes the steel sports watch aesthetic of this line.
The BR 05 watch has been around since 2015 and has been geared towards urban adventures since it was born. Now Bell & Ross builds on the robust and reliable reputation of the BR 05 watch series, producing the brand new BR 05 Skeleton Gold watch, limited to just 500 pieces each. The BR 05 Skeleton watch has been around for four years now and shows no sign of exiting the brand's online catalogue, especially since it has been growing an established following with its Skeleton Green watch released just last year and the NightLum watch back in 2021.
The new Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Gold watch offers a precious metal addition to the collection, combined with a fully openworked dial that creates an urban and chic style. Embodying the familiar round dial within a square-shaped case, the new model measures a 40mm diameter, which, when taken into account its prominent square shape, measures very broad on the wrist. The model features a stainless steel case executed in a mix of satin-brushed and polished finishes, with a rose gold-coloured flange that gives way to a golden-toned dial.
Four fixed and polished steel screws adorn the surface of the model’s 100-meter water-resistant case, which has also been topped with a piece of scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. Discreet features like the satin-brushed effect across the case middle are a nice touch, as is the sapphire exhibition caseback attached to the rear of the case, guaranteeing a clear view into the working of an automatic movement sitting within. All the while, this timepiece does not exceed a depth of 10.45mm in diameter – pretty unusual for a steel sports watch design.
That golden flange I mentioned earlier diffuses a warm light across the surface of the dial and has been galvanised for a luxurious and indulgent finish across the wrist. These honey-toned refractions of light warm the dial, giving way to large baton indexes and a set of central hands fashioned in the same way. Both the hour markers and the hands have been treated with Grade X1 White 10 Super-LumiNova, enabling them to pop in a rich green emission against the skeletonised dial once darkness comes.
The new Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Gold Limited Edition watch is powered by a movement that has been built with a micro-blasted ruthenium upper bridge and plate and replaces the Baroque approach to movement decoration with a geographic and linear styling. The CAL.322 is a beautiful sight to behold through the transparent caseback of the watch, crafted from strong scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass.
The new Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Gold Limited Edition watch is fitted on an integrated bracelet to evoke the sports luxe styling of this popular line. The integrated bracelet has been crafted from stainless steel and secures to the underside of the wrist with a folding clasp that has been engraved with the Bell & Ross logo. In this design, the first link is part of the case for an ergonomic finish against the skin. There’s also the option to wear the watch on a black rubber strap or an amber colour with an embossed grooved surface finish.
