“Perfecting the Perfection”
Nostalgically, reflecting on their early days, their roots, the foundations that Fortis have built their empire upon became the important focus of the brand for Baselworld 2016. A sense of ‘Perfecting the Perfection’ - to truly evaluate and analysis every intricate detail that could improve each timepiece no matter how small. To revisit collections from the 80s and 90s, that with today’s technology could be transformed into a new revised form exceeded expectations of their era. An exciting viewpoint that has always kept their founder’s (Walter Vogt) motto close at heart - ‘Perfecting the Perfection.’ Fortis bravely ‘take one step into the past, while taking two steps into the future.’
Join us as we explore the endless possibilities that thrusts true classics into the contemporary world.
Taking the classic formula of the Aviator watch, Fortis develops the design further for a more contemporary audience. The black PVD version adds a sporty edge whereas the steel edition maintains a classic look. Bringing the Aeromaster to life with the use of the raised indices not only adds to readability but offers a unique dial design enhanced by the distinctive second hand.
Specifications: fixed bezel, leather strap, steel case, 42mm case width, chronograph, day and date display, black dial, automatic movement, 200M water resistant.
A revisit of the first automatic chronograph to experience space. The new additional features do not overpower the signature style of the original model yet serve to enhance. The bicolour casing with a ceramic bezel is the most obvious alteration along with the glass case back; a feature that exposes the very core of the watch.
Specifications: fixed bezel, leather strap, steel case, 42mm case width, chronograph, day and date display, silver dial, automative movement.
The Cockpit collection has become known as the revamped, youthful Flieger series. The dial welcomes a modern, open and instrumental interpretation; a feature realised by the larger date display. A design direction that ensures that the readability remains intact. Some may say even dramatically enhanced with the clear structure of the dial and bright orange hints that light up vividly. The transparent case back reveals the new generation ETA system adding a contemporary feel to the superb aviator watch.

The revisited model welcomes the newly developed flat bicolour casing, the crown logo, the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, exposed case back and a perfection dial test without hesitation. Legibility is essential for an aviator watch, which is executed outstandlingly by the partially fluted dial, the raised indices and a flawless colour combination. The new features do not distract from the strong identity of Fortis yet is subtly entwined into the design of the timepiece ensuring both functionality and elegance.
