Citizen carried out a high number of performance tests to guarantee a water tight, helium resistance instrument. The structure, materials and assembly technique of the Promaster Eco-Drive Professional Diver 1000m was exhaustively tested to ensure performance at these challenging levels.
Helium can easily penetrate the inside of a water resistant watch as the molecules are so small. Understanding the complications, Citizen presented a catalogue of different scenarios for the watch to survive without damage to the movement and therefore, reading the exact time. The reliable, robust watch is the result of passionate and skilful engineers who were extremely dedicated to the task in hand.
Carefully produced by hand, the skilful Citizen team build the powerful diving instrument with a steady hand and meticulous eye for detail; a process that can easily be described as a work of art! Assembling the timepiece, is incredibly difficult especially attaching the glass to the case without snagging the rubber seal.
Inspired by the deep sea creature, the turban shell, the watch is a bold and striking design that is highly functional. The brick-like structure is also easy to manoeuvre wearing gloves due to it’s irregular shape. The rotating bezel is lockable, the luminous hands guarantee visibility in total darkness and the end of the strap is an hourglass shape to reduce the risk of unfastening. In addition, the screw down crown ensures 100% water resistance, the unidirectional bezel eliminates the danger of turning the bezel the wrong way and the double folding buckle prevents the watch falling to the seabed; The extraordinary watch enables for diver’s to experience a whole new level of adventure in confidence.
The lightweight, super titanium case provides the much needed confidence to dive so deep. The perfect material due its rust and scratch resistance - a material that is over five times harder than stainless steel enhanced by Citizen’s Duratect MRK and Duratect DLC that marks the toughest exterior to date! For the ultimate precision, the Promaster Eco-Drive Professional 1000m features a shock counteraction function and an automatic hand correction function to always keep the hands in the correct position.
