Bremont Unveils Supernova, Fury and Audley Watches
Thursday - 13 October 2022
Powered by Bremont’s manufactured ENG300 movement series and tested by its new in-house H1 Timing Standard for chronometers - the new Bremont Supernova, Fury and Audley watches each offer something unique to devoted collectors of pilot’s watches and elegant dress watches.
The latest announcement by Bremont revealing its new H1 Timing Standard is a big one. It comes at the same time as three new highly attractive pieces – each one powered by a calibre from the brand’s ENG300 movement series. It’s the first time that Bremont has equipped a core range timepiece with its manufactured movement. First of all, the Supernova is a watch that signifies the company’s first integrated stainless steel bracelet and a case that has been three years in the making. In addition to this, the watch features the brand’s patented Trip-Tick case technology (as do the Fury and the Audley models), as well as an anti-shock movement mount. The Fury, on the other hand, has definitive pilot-inspired elements such as a white painted Arabic numeral hour track against a grained blue or black dial and a sunray-finished power reserve display. The two new watches from the Fury line have been inspired by historical British aircraft as have many of Bremont’s most popular aviation timepieces. Lastly and markedly more dress-watch-style, is the Audley watch, belonging to Bremont’s Mayfair collection. The model is available in stainless steel or 18ct rose gold, both measuring a 40mm diameter to complete a wrist-friendly and simple styling.
Bremont tests its new ENG300 movement series in-house
Last year Bremont vastly modified the K1 movement and named it the ENG300, stamped with the “Made in England” lettering. It was fitted to the heart of the Bremont Longitude Limited Edition, equipped with a tungsten rotor and featuring a beautiful, well-proportioned layout promising a 65-hour power reserve. Created in collaboration with Greenwich Royal Observatory, the Longitude Limited Edition watch was a homage to the prime Meridian and incorporated a real piece of brass taken from the original Meridian marker. It was the perfect special edition collectable to celebrate this milestone achievement. All the infrastructure to support the assembly of the ENG300 movements, their regulation and the testing of these movements are done independently at Bremont’s Henley-on-Thames manufacturing facilities – The Wing, thanks to its new H1 Timing Standard.
Named after the brand’s Henley-on-Thames facilities but also Harrison’s first H1 marine timekeeper developed between the years 1730 and 1735, the H1 Timing Standard tips its hat to the experimental timekeeper that answered the problem of measuring Longitude out at sea. The new state-of-the-art H1 Timing Standard is a platform to measure all of Bremont’s chronometers with and is comparable to the ISO3159:2009 chronometer test. It has also required huge investment into new machinery, staff and training and ensures that the movements are tested whilst functioning and with all their components and complications intact for better results.
A quick glance at the Bremont Supernova
The new steel Bremont Supernova watch measures a 40mm diameter and a thickness of 11.1mm, making it slightly slimmer than the newly released Fury and Audley watches. Its patented Trip-Tick construction is executed with finely detailed graining and polished facets, whilst a patented anti-shock movement mount protects the ENG375 Calibre from impact and damage inside a 100-meter water-resistant housing. The hands on the Supernova’s dial sit on a raised surface, framed by concentric decoration lines and are treated with luminous material against a blue, black or white dial. A power reserve indicator sits at 6 o’clock under a flat piece of sapphire crystal and the watch is completed on the all-new integrated stainless steel T-link bracelet with a butterfly clasp.
A quick glance at the Bremont Fury
The Fury watches in blue and black are classic, legible and understated, making them great options for enjoying as dress watches as well as pilot’s watches. The model shares the same ENG365 movement as the Audley watch, promising a power reserve of 65 hours and is fitted on a corresponding blue or black leather strap to match its respective dial colour. The classic design of the display took a total of two years to perfect and features white printed Arabic numerals set against a grained backdrop, with Super-LumiNova-coated hour markers at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock. A dial ring around the edge features a minute track, with markers highlighting five-minute increments. These are enhanced by blue emission Super-LumiNova material to assist with more detailed timekeeping at night. The dial of the new Bremont Fury watch also features luminous-filled nickel-plated hour and minute hands and a red-tipped pointer second hand. A nickel-plated power reserve hand resides at 6 o’clock inside a round indicator adorned with red colour to highlight the lower end of the ENG365’s power.
A quick glance at the Bremont Audley
The Audley is an elegant and classic-looking dress watch with a pared-back dial available in silver. The metal dial is adorned with rose gold-plated hands or nickel-plated hands depending on whether the 40mm case is crafted in stainless steel or 18ct rose gold. Its Trip-Tick case is topped with a stepped bezel and sealed with a sapphire crystal glass top, whilst through the back of the watch, a glimpse of the ENG365 is granted. Like all new Bremont Fury and Supernova watches, the Audley timepiece is equipped with a power reserve at 6 o’clock, highlighted in red to show the lower end of the movement’s energy levels. Both case options are fitted on a brown leather strap with a pin-style buckle.
