A Look at the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Pink Watch
Friday - 11 November 2022
In the words of Psychedelic Furs; “Pretty in pink, isn’t she?” Yes, she is. TAG Heuer has launched some Aquaracer Professional 300 watches with some off-the-wall dial colours since the brand revamped the Aquaracer line last year, including olive green, gradient blue-black, and a stunning blue lagoon shade. These dial colours are paired with the brand’s recent wave-like dial pattern and offer a simple three-handed date layout, albeit with a choice of diamonds or no diamonds. But one of the latest TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watches to emerge from the waters this year is the reference; WBP231J.BA0618 with some serious pinkness going on.
What’s really happening is that TAG Heuer experts have well and truly mastered this aquatic watch. So much so, that the Aquaracer watch is now free to enjoy its dive tool attributes across a scope of different and more playful colours. The design is spot on. We have a water resistance of 300 meters, a screw-down crown and caseback, a legible luminous-dressed dial, a strong sapphire crystal glass front, a unidirectional rotating bezel for measuring elapsed time underwater, and a robust folding clasp with a push button mechanism – all things that meet the criteria outlined in TAG Heuer’s list of dive-worthy specifications. What’s left to do? Experiment with some new colours, of course. Its glossy black bezel makes the pink dial pop, whilst a robust stainless steel bracelet adds a sporty element to its overall design.
The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Pink watch
The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watch in pink is described as a pressure-proof professional model that can endure the most testing and trying of conditions. The model is aimed at women with a preference for bold sporty models and offers a touch of subtle glamour and opulence through its diamond-kissed dial. The hour markers relating to 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 o’clock are all represented by a scintillating diamond with a VS clarity and a diamond weight of 0.07 carats. The remaining hours are presented in rectangular indexes with a tapering end that points inwards to the centre of the dial. Against a wave-like dial effect, a set of central hour and minute hands have been treated with Super-LumiNova, just like the indexes. The 6 o’clock location displays a circular date aperture underneath a cyclops lens and is framed by a detailed minute track running around the periphery of the dial in white.
The entire surface of the dial of this new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Pink watch is protected by a pane of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that has been treated with anti-reflective treatment. Flip the 300-meter water-resistant case over and you can see the recognisable diving helmet engraved into its stainless steel surface. The 36mm model is equipped with an easy-to-grip screw-down crown at 3 o’clock, stamped with the famous TAG Heuer logo. Crafted from stainless steel, the case of the new pink TAG Heuer Aquaracer watch leads to a tapered bracelet with fine-brushed outer links and polished links on the inner side. The bracelet closes against the skin with a folding clasp and push button mechanism.
Inside the strong and water-resistant case of the pink TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watch is the Calibre 5. This automatic movement has an autonomy of 38 hours and performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Although not visible through a sapphire-backed case, the Calibre 5 bears a total of 26 rubies and boasts an oscillating mass in Cotes de Geneve decoration along with the engraved TAG Heuer lettering.
