Raymond Weil Watch Partners with The SSE Hydro
Friday - 11 October 2013
The three-year partnership began on September 30th 2013 as Rod Stewart performed to the sold out stadium. A number of Raymond Weil Maestro clocks were placed around the arena, and a countdown clock was displayed around the bowl of the arena five seconds before Rod Stewart first appeared on stage.
"We are thrilled to have unveiled our partnership with The SSE Hydro last night," Olivier Berheim, Raymond Weil CEO and President, said after the event. "Music and watchmaking have a lot in common, whether it is the inspiration that comes from the artist or designer and watchmaker and the precision needed to achieve the highest of standards. This partnership is the second music arena partnership that we have secured over the past six months following London's iconic music venue - The Royal Albert Hall. We are sure that our partnership will be a huge success and we feel it marks yet another significant step forward in terms of our global music marketing strategy."
Standing at 45m high, The SSE Hydro was modelled on Greek and Roman amphitheatres and has become the newest landmark on Glasgow's skyline. Raymond Weil is being promoted throughout the arena through extensive digital display advertising, including a projection of a Raymond Weil Freelancer that wraps around the entire arena. The projection can be seen from 20 miles away.
"This partnership is fantastic news and the 'timing' couldn't be more appropriate as timing is an essential element of every show," said Peter Duthie, Commercial Director at SEC Ltd. "We welcome Raymond Weil as our Official Timing Partner and we are delighted to have secured such a universally known brand."
