Mühle Glashütte Watch Wins 'Active Lifestyle Watch' Award
Monday - 17 December 2012
The Starhill Gallery is a luxury retail mall in Kuala Lumpur, and the host of 'A Journey Through Time' - one of the largest luxury jewellery and watch showcases in Asia. Held from 22nd November to 1st December 2012, the sixth annual showcase featured 120 leading manufacturers of fine jewellery and luxury timepieces, as well as the Starhill Gallery Watch of the Year Awards ceremony.
The S.A.R. Flieger-Chronograph was created for the rescue pilots from the German Navy, as they were looking for a chronograph which would enable calculation of flight speeds while withstanding the harshest of operating conditions. The watch is powered by MU 9409 automatic movement with woodpecker neck regulation. It has a 44 mm stainless steel case with bidirectional bezel, and the domed, anti-glare sapphire crystal is 2.5 mm thick.
The chronograph functions and 10-second scale are marked in orange, to allow easy differentiation between the time displays. Hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova for visibility in the dark. The crown and pusher are placed on the left, so they do not restrict hand movements, and the start pusher is positioned at 8 o'clock for easy operation with the thumb.
The watch has a transparent case back, screw-in crown, and offers water resistance to 10 bars. It comes with a choice of rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet.
