Hamilton Watch 120th Anniversary Exhibition in Switzerland

An exhibition celebrating the 120th anniversary of Hamilton watches will be held in Geneva, Switzerland.

From 4th September to 31st October 2012, more than 30 special timepieces will be presented at Cité du Temps in an exhibition titled "Born 120 Years Ago… Ahead of Time Ever Since". The displays will span Hamilton's 120 year history - beginning with the brand's foundation in Lancaster, Pennsylvania USA in 1892, and ending in 2012 with its anniversary celebrations.

The oldest item to be displayed is a pocket watch from 1901, when Hamilton was known as 'The Watch of Railroad Accuracy'. Other highlights include the Hamilton Ventura, the world's first battery-powered watch; a Ventura worn by Elvis Presley; and the Hamilton Pulsar from 1973, the very first LED digital watch. An original 1941 Hamilton marine chronometer will also be shown alongside the 2012 Khaki Navy Pioneer Limited Edition that it inspired.

Hamilton describes the exhibits as "a selection of watchmaking, historical and communication firsts in a display never before shown in Switzerland." It is open 7 days a week from 9am - 6pm, with free admission.
A similar Hamilton 120th anniversary exhibition was held in New York in June 2012.
