Oris Watch is Official Timekeeper of 2012 RAID Suisse-Paris Rally

Oris is the Official Timekeeper and Watch Partner of the RAID Suisse-Paris Rallye International 2012, releasing a limited edition watch in tribute to the classic car event.
The 22nd annual RAID rally is taking place between August 23rd-26th, where 140 classic cars will embark on a 3-day journey from Basel, Switzerland, to Paris, France. The 2012 rally includes teams from Great Britain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Monaco, Austria, Mexico and the USA.

The cars gather at Basel Fair Hall in front of thousands of spectators before beginning the journey to Paris. The rally follows a scenic route, far away from busy traffic and avoiding steep slopes to ensure ease of driving for the vintage cars.
Oris has been an official partner of the rally since 2010, and has created a number of limited edition watches in its honour.

The Oris RAID 2012 Chronograph Limited Edition was inspired by the winning car of the 2011 race, a 1942 Cadillac Series 62. It has a multi-piece stainless steel case measuring 43.5 mm, and has a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside. The case back is stainless steel with see-through mineral glass and special engravings.
Movement is Oris 677 base ETA 7754 automatic winding chronograph, with 42 hours power reserve. The timepiece is limited to 500 pieces and is presented in a special luxury wooden box.
