NOMOS Glashutte Metro 38 Datum Urban Gray Watch Review
Friday - 14 August 2015
The award winning NOMOS Glashutte Metro 38 Datum masterpiece has received a dramatic makeover welcoming the urban gray hue that spans the entire dial.
It is widely known that the exceptional model has broken records of receiving a large amount of awards in a very short space of time and selling out very quickly; a feat unheard of by competing models. Boasting a 38.5 millimetre diameter features a ruthenium-plated dial responsible for the gray shade that provides a masculine, bold aesthetic due to the dark colour. The delicate light mint green and white spots, clear, neat numbers and finely chiselled hour and minute hands contrast against the darker dial enhancing legibility. The seconds hand is lacquered in a striking red, which again stands out against the gray dial increasing readability. The stainless steel slender case frames the mysterious dial perfectly as does the complimentary black leather strap. The new shade is admired through a curved sapphire crystal glass noting the elimination of the power reserve indicator of the sister dial for a minimal, pared down appearance.
The NOMOS Glashutte Metro 38 Datum Urban Gray is housed with the DUW 4101 with manual winding and date indicator and NOMOS swing system with tempered blue balance spring. A movement that is engineered in house by expert engineers who count precision, accuracy and reliability as top priorities. The complex, intricate movement is beautifully exposed with a sapphire crystal case back.
The gray hue provides a dramatic, darker side of the NOMOS Glashutte model that has been awaited by many timepiece admirers.
