Oris Williams New Editions Watch Review
Wednesday - 20 May 2015
Oris has designed a whole collection of motor sport watches as a tribute to their long standing partnership with Formula 1.
The new line entitled Oris Williams is a nod to one of the most iconic names in Formula 1. The launch signifies a first for the collaboration as never before has a complete collection been created carrying the prestigious title; an honour that has brought the relationship to life and cemented a new journey for the strong alliance.
The exquisite masterpieces embody speed, power and aerodynamic of the cars that race the tracks at such force. The collection that includes the 42 mm stainless steel Oris Williams Day Date and the 44 mm stainless steel Oris Williams Chronograph echoes the innovative and professional minds of the Williams F1 team. To reflect the slick silhouette of a Williams F1 car the shape of the watch case is moulded to adopt the profile of the racing machine. In addition, the integrated lugs mirror that of the nose cone, which completes a design that embraces speed.
Other features demonstrate the dynamic influence with the crown resembling a wheel from the car’s gearbox and the chronograph sub-dials located at 8 o’clock reset to zero, which is directly inspired by the needles on the dashboard instruments panels in historic Williams F1 racing cars. To mark the blue associated with the Williams F1 team the Day Date edition is created in this exact shade but is also available with a black dial. Utilising the same colour combination but in a different way the chronograph adopts a black dial with a contrasting blue sub-dial and small second hands.
In both models the automatic movements are exposed with a sapphire crystal case back. To be specific the editions house the iconic Oris Red Rotor that showcases the brands High-Mech watchmaking ethos. Opt for a stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap depending on style preference.
Indulge in the collaborations thirteenth year with the Oris Williams Chronograph or the Oris Williams Day Date.
