As a partner of the International Basketball Federation since 2008, Tissot will provide official timekeeping at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Spain 2014.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup Spain 2014 begins on August 30th and will feature 24 teams. A limited edition Tissot watch has been created to celebrate the competition.
Tissot President François Thiébaud said: "Being associated with such an international sport as basketball underlines our dynamic nature and our values of precision and performance. In turn, we will keep rising to the challenge of ensuring that success and victory at that level are firmly rooted in precision and fairness. Offering exclusive timekeeping services and unique designed watches also gives our passionate customers an additional reason to be proud of their commitment to Tissot."
The Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 is based on the Tissot Quickster, with a bright orange aluminium ring inspired by the colour of a basketball. It has a 42 mm stainless steel case and the FIBA Basketball World Cup logo is engraved on the case back. The watch is limited to 2014 pieces.
"We are extremely thankful to Tissot for creating a limited edition watch to commemorate the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup," said Patrick Baumann, FIBA Secretary General and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member. "Those lucky enough to get their hands on a Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 should make sure to cherish this unique souvenir and specially made time piece long after the first-ever FIBA Basketball World Cup is over. It is through this type of initiative that our relationship with Tissot - a FIBA Global Partner since 2008 - has improved year after year and delivered great benefits."
