Tissot has launched a new special edition watch to celebrate its role as Official Timekeeper of the RBS 6 Nations.
The Tissot T-Touch II Titanium RBS 6 Nations Special Edition 2014 is said to reflect the "dynamism and passion for sport of both Tissot and the players competing in the Championships, with its fiery red and athletic attitude". The timepiece is worn by all of the 6 Nations referees.
The watch has a titanium case with an anti-scratch coating, and the RBS 6 Nations logo is engraved on the case back. It has a rotating bezel, and a tactile scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
Functions include a compass, thermometer, chronograph, dual time zones, two alarms, backlight, perpetual calendar, and water-resistance to 100 metres. The timepiece comes with a red silicone strap, with the colour chosen to represent "willpower and action".
Tissot's three-year partnership with the RBS 6 Nations began in 2013, with the brand providing live on-screen match timing graphics for each game.
"Tissot has always partnered with disciplines that reflect and share the brand’s values and spirit," the brand says. "The alliance with the RBS 6 Nations Championship is no exception to this rule. The sport of Rugby demonstrates many of the core values which are shared at Tissot, such as teamwork, respect, discipline and a love for sports. These Championships are therefore the perfect platform for Tissot to be showcasing its timing expertise in an exciting, international environment, which at the same time represents the brand’s spirit perfectly."
