Breitling has dedicated a limited edition version of its Chronomat 44 GMT to the Patrouille Suisse in celebration of the team's 50th anniversary.
The Patrouille Suisse is an aerobatic team composed of professional Swiss Air Force pilots. Flying six American F-5E Tiger II fighter aircraft in red and white livery, the team regularly perform at shows around Europe. Breitling describes the team as "an outstanding ambassador of Swiss precision and excellence".
The Breitling Chronomat 44 GMT 'Patrouille Suisse 50th Anniversary' is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, with the flight team logo displayed on dial. The case back is engraved with the official 50th anniversary logo and the limited edition number.
The watch has a 44 mm satin-brushed steel case, and a rotating bezel with inlaid rubber numerals. The second hour hand is tipped by the outline of a red F-5E Tiger II, and serves to display the second timezone in 24-hour mode via the crown-adjustment system. A 24-hour scale on the bezel enables a third timezone reading. The timepiece is powered by the Manufacture Breitling Caliber B04 self-winding chronograph movement, which is entirely developed and produced by Breitling and certified by the COSC.
