Stay Organised with the New Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar

The new Montblanc Star Legacy watch captures over 165 years of Minerva heritage. It features a stunning exploding star guilloche dial that makes keeping track of a busy lifestyle completely unique.

At the back end of 2018, a new reimagined Star Legacy watch collection was launched by Montblanc. It included a 39mm Automatic Date and one in a 42mm size, along with two Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronographs and a Full Calendar watch. These models celebrated Montblanc’s dressier side and represented a face-lift for the collection.

The Star Legacy Full Calendar model was by far the most attractive of the lot. It had so many appealing characteristics. Measuring a 42mm diameter, its polished stainless steel case was a treat for the wrist with a traditional blue sfumato leather band and polished steel clasp. The inner section of its dial was executed in a guilloche effect, whilst a pointer date hand with a red-tipped hand travelled gracefully across its surface. The dial also featured a moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock, balanced by a day and month indicator in windows at the 12 o’clock location. Its crisp black Roman numerals worked really well with the dial arrangement and layout. For its price point, you got a highly functional watch that was made well and evoked a classic feel on the wrist.

Today we can feast our eyes upon one of the latest releases by Montblanc. The Star Legacy Full Calendar once again draws from the history of the brand’s Minerva heritage with Star Legacy cues that include the railway track and dots, not to mention the half-moon pointer date hand and the counterweight on the central second hand, shaped into the Montblanc emblem. The 2022 version closely followed in the footsteps of the initial Full Calendar watch with a slightly widened moon phase indicator that drew attention towards the most meticulous part of its design. Now the latest edition justifies the need to keep track of the time, days and months of the year with a newly evolved design.

The new Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar Watch

A midnight blue dial forms the character of the new Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar watch. Its shade captures a unique point in time, exactly halfway between the sunset and the sunrise. It has become the inspiration to so many expertly crafted timepieces over the years and a muse to Montblanc experts who have worked literally around the clock to bring this design to fruition.

The new Full Calendar Watch from Montblanc features an exploding star guilloche dial. Its functions include central hours, minutes and seconds as well as the day, date and month of the year. A beautiful moonphase display elegantly finishes the design. Its pebble-shaped case measures a 42mm in diameter and has been crafted from polished stainless steel. Straight horns and steps on the side of the case give the timepiece more definition and depth. All the codes of the Star Legacy collection are present, transporting its wearer back to its Minerva heritage of over 165 years.

Solver-coloured Roman numeral hour markers are meticulously placed upon the blue dial, accompanied by the dotted railroad minute track. The hands are leaf-shaped and are accompanied by a blue-coated date hand with a half-moon tip. The base of the second hand has also been adorned with a Montblanc emblem. The hands are sent around the dial thanks to a revised movement.

The Calibre MB 24.30 was introduced in 2022 and now powers the new Star Legacy Full Calendar watch by Montblanc. Its redesign made the setting of the calendar simpler by using two pushers instead of the previous four. A wider moon feature also comes with these new modifications as well as an improved power reserve of 50 hours once fully charged. The movement sits inside a 50-meter water resistant case which attaches to a new interchangeable strap system.

The new Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar watch now offers more versatility. You can effortlessly switch between the brand’s blue Sfumato alligator leather band to a more sophisticated stainless steel bracelet without the need for any tools. While the blue leather band add a classic yet relaxed feel to smart-casual wear, the metal bracelet option is perfect for dressing up the wrist at night.
