If you class yourself as a Red Bull super fan, the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 X Oracle Red Bull Racing Team will impress with its racing-focussed updates, interfaces and features.

Over recent years, TAG Heuer has really upped its game in the realm of smartwatch development. You could even go as far as to say that the brand produces some of the most desirable Google Wear OS technology on the current market. Sure, there is competition between itself, Apple and Garmin but for many people, Wear OS technology is ideal for city/urban life. Part of the enjoyment of wearing a TAG Heuer Connected watch is about the software experience. On top of the base Google Wear Operation System are layers of extra software, which is where a Connected watch stands out. Google’s hardware team enable companies like TAG Heuer to develop their own watch faces to give their consumer a versatile, customisable experience on the wrist. A selection of interfaces also assists with a richer and more varied selection of options for exercise tracking and travel.

One of the great things about the TAG Heuer Connected watch collection, as a whole, is that it’s a broad family of designs. You can get the watch in different sizes from a more compact 42mm to a broader 45mm, while themed versions include the Connected E4 for Porsche, golf, and even a Super Mario edition. Throughout these versions, even the software can vary, giving each user a tailored experience that perfectly fits in with their lifestyle. The TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre watch looks and feels like a traditional watch, appealing to an audience who wants an elevated product experience that looks classic, just like a mechanical watch.

The genre of the TAG Heuer smartwatch has been on a steady incline since the collection’s release back in 2015. All the while, the Swiss watchmaker has been modifying and improving its design to provide a better wearable experience with every release. For its most recent release, the brand is launching a new 45mm Connected Calibre E4 smartwatch, having teamed up with Oracle Red Bull Racing. The watch is a premium lifestyle accessory and comes as a special edition, with a sleek black DLC-coated titanium case for exceptional comfort and lightness.

This thematic luxury smartwatch will appeal to TAG Heuer fans who want to enjoy the spectator experience while indulging in their horological passions. Very close in design to the models of the original Connected Calibre E4 series, the watch features a ceramic bezel atop its black DLC-coating titanium case and measures a confident 45mm diameter. The crown and pushers on the case are, however, crafted from stainless steel and TAG Heuer experts give these a refined DLC finish to keep in line with the sleek look of the case. The top of the case is sealed with a piece of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that protects a bright and colourful touchscreen from damage. On the titanium caseback, a PPG sensor can be found, along with charging ports and the case promises a 50-meter water-resistant rating.

One sure way to tell this watch is a special edition piece in honour of TAG Heuer’s relationship with Oracle Red Bull Racing Team is its vividly coloured strap, finished in the team’s livery. The bi-material construction of the strap features a rubber internal structure while the outer structure of the strap is blue and red. To complete the comfortable design of the strap, TAG Heuer experts equip it with a titanium folding clasp that operates with a double push release system. Like the case itself, the clasp, engraved with the TAG Heuer logo, is finished with a DLC coating to complete its sleek and modern aesthetic. If the blue and red strap is too sporty for your liking, there’s an additional black rubber strap to swap it with by using the quick-release system that features at the bottom of the strap near the lugs.

The new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Oracle Red Bull Racing Special Edition watch, like other Connected watches, features a barometer, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, microphone and heart rate monitor. Its suite of apps includes everything from alarms to ensure you stay organised, wellness features, activity trackers, and stopwatch features. There’s also a range of dedicated software for activities such as golf and running. In terms of battery life, the new TAG Heuer Connected watch for 2024, lasts an entire day, while the most appealing feature for motorsport fans is going to be the watch’s host of F1-specific faces and applications.

There are four F1-themed watch faces to choose from with this release, including the hero face which features small flags on the screen to represent the various countries where the F1 races will take place. This display updates and evolves throughout the year to provide accurate information. Another watch face is a rendition of the 2022 TAG Heuer Formula 1 x Red Bull Racing Special Edition, while another is an Asphalt watch face that features a textured background akin to the racetracks encountered at the F1 races. The Oracle Red Bull Racing application also displays countdowns to the races each weekend, as well as images of the teams and result updates that are regular and accurate. News updates are also supplied, as well as the current team’s positions.

Firmly dedicated to the Red Bull F1 squadron, the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45mm x Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition appeals to Red Bull super fans and TAG enthusiasts alike.
