What’s New for the Garmin MARQ II Smartwatch
Tuesday - 11 October 2022
The news we have all been waiting for, smartwatch brand Garmin have finally launched the MARQ II watch collection. The Garmin MARQ II Athlete, MARQ II Adventurer, MARQ II Aviator, MARQ II Captain and MARQ II Golfer watches deliver all the same ground-breaking materials and technologies as before alongside some much-appreciated upgrades. Here’s everything new added to the Garmin MARQ II smartwatches…
What’s New for the Garmin MARQ II?
AMOLED Touchscreen Display
A huge addition to the new Garmin MARQ II watches is an AMOLED display. Previously, the Garmin MARQ watch boasted a sunlight-visible, transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. This alone was already impressive and allowed for easy legibility of the mass of functions within. Nevertheless, the new AMOLED display of the Garmin MARQ II watch offers even better readability than before. The displays are beautifully crisp and bright, full-colour and touchscreen with a pixel resolution of 390x390. The display remains protected by domed sapphire crystal glass.
Improved Battery Life
Each Garmin MARQ II smartwatch also delivers an improved battery life of 16 days in smartwatch mode compared to the 12 day limit on the first generation editions. This is made even more impressive since AMOLED displays are renowned for being power-hungry. You’ll also get up to 21 days in Battery Saver Watch Mode, 75 hours in Max Battery GPS and up to 14 days in Expedition GPS mode.
Jet Lag Advisor
Perfect for those often hopping between time zones, the Garmin MARQ II watches come with a new jet lag advisor. The feature is designed to help you minimise the effects of jet lag during and after travelling by giving you guidance on light exposure, your sleep schedule and exercise. You can enter your travel details into the Garmin Connect smartphone app and calendar and track how your body clock adjusts to your new destination.
Preloaded TopoActive Maps with NextFork™
The Garmin MARQ II watches now come with preloaded TopoActive maps already installed paired with a new technology Garmin calls NextFork™. This feature aims to help you navigate hiking trails and lets you see beyond the next turn.
Multi-GNSS with SatIQ™ Technology
Another fantastically useful feature for hikers and adventurers is SatIQ™ technology. This works alongside the multi-GNSS satellite systems to ensure the best the best positioning accuracy in any environment. Garmin also claims this helps to optimise the battery life of each Garmin MARQ II smartwatch so using GPS and other navigational tools drains the battery less than before.
