Up Close with the Garmin MARQ 2 Aviator Watch

New for 2022, Garmin releases the new MARQ 2 series of smartwatches with 5 new models. The Garmin MARQ 2 Aviator watch is amongst these, equipped with a black bezel set on a new lightweight grade 5 titanium case and fitted with a new crisp AMOLED display for effortless control over a plethora of aviation-friendly features

The MARQ2 Aviator smartwatch enables you to navigate locations and waypoints anywhere in the world with its in-built aeronautical database, or you could simply choose a required path to a nearby airport. Likewise, you could set flight conditions and a minimum crosswind with its aviation alerts and be notified when the prime time to fly is. These are just a few of the new features of the MARQ2 Aviator watch, released in conjunction with four other models; the MARQ 2 Adventure, MARQ 2 Athlete, MARQ 2 Captain and MARQ 2 Golfer. This slew of new releases perfectly highlights the continuation of Garmin’s technological breakthroughs in the world of cutting-edge smartwatch design.

Synced with the skies…

The new MARQ 2 Aviator watch by Garmin has several features to highlight.  These come paired with design elements and some software modifications that are shared with its Golfer, Captain, Adventure, and Athlete friends. Its bespoke features, however, make navigating the skies a complete cinch and include things like its Direct-To-Navigation feature, which lets you navigate straight to a location or waypoint in the worldwide aeronautical database, or you can choose the Nearest function to activate a path to a nearby airport. Its Weather Reports feature lets you access aviation weather, including METARs, TAFs and MOS2 to see winds, visibility, barometric pressure and more. If you want to see graphical indications of MOS forecasts for specific airports, along with temperature trends, wind, dewpoint, sky cover, precipitation probability and more, you can do so with the MARQ 2 Aviator’s Meteogram feature. Are you left or right of your desired flight path? You can check that too, with the HIS Course Needle feature. Additionally, there’s an Airport Information feature that gives you insight into runway orientation, lengths and airport frequencies as you approach your destination.

The MARQ 2 Aviator even offers things like a Flightplan Transfer for viewing the list of waypoints included in your route, a UTC And Timezones Feature that lets you stay on schedule when you travel with a UTC pointer on the watch face, plus there’s a host of multiple time zone displays to make use of, and an Alerts & Timers feature so that you can set a reminder to switch fuel tanks or perform other critical tasks. Lastly, there’s also a Configurable Alerts feature, Emergency Mode feature and Flight Logging function to enjoy.

Are you wondering what features the new MARQ 2 Aviator watch shares with the rest of the new MARQ 2 series? Well, the range features a brand-new AMOLED full-colour display protected under a strong piece of sapphire crystal glass, as well as a new grade 5 titanium case that is now stronger and more scratch-resistant. Its classic-looking bezel is crafted from ceramic and the watch comes with a new USB-C-based charging cable with a new charging port that takes only an hour to fully charge compared to existing Fenix 7 and the Epix series smartwatches.

Technology-wise, you get the TopoActive mapping and NextFork™ features, which help you to navigate trails and see beyond the next turn. This new advanced mapping technology is enhanced by; Around Me, elevation profiles, outdoor points of interest and much more. Additionally, there’s the multi-band GNSS with integrated SatIQ™ technology that will preserve power usage whilst securing you the very best accuracy, no matter where you are in the world. All of the new MARQ 2 smartwatches also boast an improved battery life of 16 days compared to its former 12-day battery power (as well as 21 days in Battery Saver Mode, 75 hours in Max Battery GPS mode, or 14 days in the Expedition GPS mode).

Perhaps one of the most fitting features of the new MARQ 2 series (integrated across all new models) is the Jetlag Advisor feature. It can be utilised whether you’re a passenger or a pilot since it helps you to balance light exposure with a devised sleep schedule and exercise plan. Following this will minimise the unwanted effects of jetlag whilst travelling from one country to another.

The new MARQ 2 Aviator watch comes fitted on a hardened titanium link bracelet and can be explored in more detail here, or call and speak to a member of our sales team at Jura Watches on 01335 453453
