The New Hamilton Khaki Field Far Cry 6 Limited Edition

Hamilton fills the watch and gaming space with a military tool from its Khaki Filed collection, limited to just 1983 pieces worldwide. Meet the new Hamilton Khaki Field Far Cry 6® Limited Edition watch.

Film watches with a vintage flair – that’s the key to Hamilton’s success in developing timepieces like its FarCry 6 Collaboration model. Since as far back as we can remember, the luxury watch industry has been making a close and visible connection to cinema. But in recent years, watches and video gaming is a unique mix that has been tapping into a new and young market that still undergoing research and experimentation. Hamilton already has a prolific track record on the silver screen, having featured its watches in over 500 Hollywood movies. Now, for Ubisoft’s “Far Cry 6®”, the Hamilton limited edition watch uses the rugged and stylish design of its cornerstone Khaki Field model but creates it in a series limited to 1983 pieces worldwide.

Breaking into the gaming world is the new Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium FarCry 6® Limited Edition watch. It offers gaming fans a real-world wearable timepiece based on the special digital design of the game itself, with a lightweight 42mm titanium case finished in a brushed effect. It borrows design cues from the brand’s popular Khaki Field collection with a sloping bezel, lugs that subtly taper, and a pillbox crown. As with many of the brand’ field watches, the latter enlarges the overall appearance of the watch’s size on the wrist. Despite the strong connection this watch makes to the FarCry 6® game, the design of the case itself is remarkably modest, with only a subtle reference to its “one of 1983” lettering on the back.

Video game roots are to be admired in some features of the watch’s dial. Obliging to the fictional Caribbean island setting of “Far Cry 6®”, the display of this Hamilton Khaki Field FarCry 6® Limited Edition watch is a classic black backdrop, penetrated by tropical, sandy fauxtina lume on the sword-shaped hands and the Arabic numerals displayed around the hour track. The syringe tip of each hand is in keeping with the Hamilton field watch “look”, as is the inner 24-hour scale represented in white numerals. The outer edge of the dial is characterised by a legible minute track with lume-coated dots that mark out the five-minute increments around the periphery of the dial. There is a stencil-type Arabic numeral at 6 o’clock on the watch’s hour track. This adds to the military-inspired flavour of the dial. The island’s guerilla forces are paid respect to in the vivid red colour of the watch’s central second hand. An azurage ring circling a smooth centre picks out the different sections of the dial quite nicely, contrasting against matte finishes. There’s also the Hamilton lettering and reference to the watch’s Swiss-made roots to be seen across its surface.

The new 100-meter water-resistant Hamilton Khaki Field FarCry 6® Limited Edition watch foregoes a date but is powered by a reliable self-winding calibre that can be seen through the back of the case. Here, a sapphire crystal glass lens enables a clear view of the movement’s decoration and meticulously arranged components through its crisp surface. The H-10 Calibre is capable of serving the wrist with 21,600 beats per hour and provides a power reserve of 80 hours. It’s also equipped with a Nivachron balance spring and a signed skeletonized rotor. To finish the look of this new military-come-gaming tool, the FarCray 6 watch is attached to a warm distressed medium brown leather NATO strap. The watch is accompanied by an additional strap in its presentation box upon each purchase. This is a textured two-piece nubuck strap in a sandy tan colour – once again true to the watch’s military roots.
