DOXA adds the Whitepearl colour scheme to its bold and adventurous SUB 1500T watch collection, equipped with a helium escape valve, a patented unidirectional rotating bezel and a staggering 1500-meter water resistance.
As part of DOXA’s long line of tributes to the legendary SUB 300 original from 1967, the SUB 1500T watch satisfies the needs of those longing to dive even deeper into the depths of the ocean with its indestructible steel case and staggering 1500-meter water resistance. Whilst meeting these extreme diving needs the DOXA SUB 1500T watch captures a vintage charm within its cushion-shaped 316L steel case. Alongside this, the professional diver can make good use of its patented unidirectional rotating bezel that not only features a 60-minute dive scale but also a decompression scale, all incorporated into a broad and daring 45mm diameter.
New for 2022, DOXA releases a Whitepearl version of the SUB 1500T watch. It follows the success of the SUB 200 Whitepearl watch released last year and accompanies a spectrum of colourful alternative models within this same range including the Yellow Divingstar, Turquoise Aquamarine and, of course, the cult classic – the Orange Professional. Without cutting corners, DOXA’s SUB 1500T watches can venture down to great depths of water, but in doing so, legibility becomes ever-more paramount. Historically, the brand’s Orange Professional watches were deemed incredibly effective underwater, since orange is one colour of the spectrum known to stand out vividly against the dark blue depths of the ocean. In this same vein, the clean white surface of the Whitepearl 1500T watch delivers unbelievable clarity against the rich black hour markers, hands and bezel markings, which illuminate boldly in dark conditions to maintain legibility throughout the wearer’s diving experience. A very subtly doming anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass lens is yet another clever feature implemented into the design by DOXA specialists, since it grants a clear view into the dial, even when tilted on the wrist. From the shrunken second hand to the mostly flat dial and minimalist asymmetrical layout – all of these elements of the new DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl watch contribute to its expert dive tool qualities, compromising on nothing when put to the test.
As mentioned, the case of the DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl watch is developed faithfully in accordance with other current models in the brand’s SUB 1500T collection. Its stainless steel architecture is brushed and polished and measures a diameter of 45mm with brushed cushion case slopes and polished sides on the bezel. The screw-down crown positioned at 3 o’clock is grooved for an easy grip and signed with the famous DOXA fish symbol. The crown is also recessed into the case in a cut-out section as opposed to covered or accompanied by bulky crown protecting guards.
The structure of the steel unidirectional rotating bezel fitted to the case of the new DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl watch has gear-like protrusions that prove easy to grip under slippery wet fingers or a clunky wetsuit. The traditional timing bezel is given to the inner section whilst the outer section of the bezel is where the time taken to decompress can be found. The latter feature, in particular, may not be one utilised by an amateur diver as such, but if anything, its presence drives home the fact that this DOXA SUB 1500T watch is a serious tool predominantly made for professionals.
Inside the rugged 1500-meter water-resistant steel case of the DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl watch is the Sellita SW300 movement, which produces a power reserve of 42 hours and performs at a rate of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour. It features DOXA-applied decoration, however, this is concealed behind a steel threaded caseback, along with the movement’s 26 rubies. Complete on DOXA’s signature polished and brushed beads-of-rice stainless steel bracelet with a milled clasp engraved with the DOXA fish symbol and featuring a micro-adjustment feature - the new DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl watch completes its retro “dive tool” look on the wrist. Alternatively, a white FKM rubber strap is also available, giving the watch a sportier and more relaxed presence on the wrist.
