Reservoir Releases NEW GT Tour Racing 2023 Novelty Watch

The new GT Tour Racing watch from Reservoir for 2023 features a robust steel case on a black leather or steel bracelet option. It presents the time on a retrograde dial finished in woven carbon fibre for a dynamic and ultra-sporty look

Cast your mind back to 2021. Reservoir debuted its GT Tour Carbon IDEC Sport Limited Edition watch. It took on the sporty look of the LMP2 prototype and was carried aboard the number 48 IDEC Sport LMP2 car that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Man’s event during August of that year. Le Mans has been the small French city respected for endurance racing for many years and has attracted some of the world’s finest drivers to compete across four classes in an event that determines automotive stamina, performance and precision. The GT Tour Carbon IDEC Limited Edition watch features the brand’s retrograde complications combined with a masculine and aggressive aesthetic. Crafted from matte black carbon and measuring a 43mm diameter, the watch has a broad sloping bezel and wider tapering lugs that further enhance an athletic character. The dial has a charcoal grey base whilst the strong sapphire crystal glass front and caseback feature a striated oval pattern upon their surface. The watch celebrated the collaboration between the watchmaker and IDEC Sport and was produced in a limited run of just 24 pieces worldwide after Reservoir secured the role of official watchmaker for IDEC Sport for the European Le Mans Series 2021.

As far as sporty modern designs go, Reservoir certainly hit the nail on the head with the 2021 edition, yet this year, Reservoir fans are in for another treat. A new model has launched and it is just as dynamic and edgy as the other models from the series. Let’s meet the Reservoir GT Tour Racing watch for 2023…

The new Reservoir GT Tour Racing watch

The new Reservoir GT Tour Racing watch belongs to the company’s GT Tour collection. Each watch from the series is inspired by the aesthetical appeal of RPM counters and speedometers in the world of cars. Capturing the adrenaline experienced both at the side of the racetrack and behind the wheel, each watch demonstrates the competitive spirit and high-speed thrills of the motor sporting world. The new GT Tour Racing watch from Reservoir for 2023 is influenced by the materials used for Formula 1 cars. Carbon, of course, is an essential material in the car manufacturing process. Its unique dial is therefore crafted from woven carbon fibre in a textured pattern that delivers a bold and assertive look. Upon this patterned woven carbon dial is a vibrant red retrograde minute hand that takes centre stage on the display. The dial takes on the look of a modern sports car tachymeter scale with a 0-6 measuring gauge that spread from 8 to 4 o’clock and a raised minute track around the edge occupying this same location. The 6 o’clock location features a squared-off date window at 6 o’clock against a white background. Lastly, there is a power reserve dial in a retrograde fashion at the bottom of the dial between the 5 and 7 o’clock.

The new Reservoir GT Tour Racing watch for 2023 measures a 43mm case diameter and is crafted from 316L stainless steel with a 50-meter water-resistant rating. The model is also executed with a mix of polished and brushed finishes upon the surface of its steel case. The back of the case is sealed with a sapphire crystal glass window, which forms an exhibition feature to view the performance of the watch’s automatic movement within. The movement in question is the Caliber RSV-240. The self-winding movement is a patented 113-piece module that produces an impressive 56-hour power reserve once fully wound and beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The new Reservoir GT Tour Racing watch can be enjoyed on a stainless steel bracelet and folding clasp engraved with the Reservoir logo. The bracelet can also be swapped for a black NATO strap supplied in the box but can also be purchased on a leather band option. The black leather strap is perforated and features red contrast stitching down the sides to compliment the red needle retrograde minute hand on the dial.
