NOMOS Launches Colourful Tetra Neomatik 39 watches
Wednesday - 20 July 2022
Nomos has released four new colourful Tetra Neomatik 39 watches for 2022 in red, cream, a bright blue and a rich black – all limited to 175 pieces in tribute to the Saxonian brand’s 175 years of quintessential German watchmaking
If you’re looking outside of the box and wanting to steer away from round watches, there are plenty of choices. Oval watches, tonneau-shaped watches, cushion-shaped models, shield, rhomboid and rectangular styles are all available, yet nothing looks quite as eye-catching as a square-shaped case. Nomos is the expert in that field. The new Nomos Tetra Neomatik 39 models for 2022 do a fine job of continuing Saxony’s rich heritage in beautiful German watchmaking with a perfectly square profile and a beautiful set of Art Deco-inspired lugs.
Nomos was founded in 1990 but released its first range of watches two years later. Just a mere four model families existed then. These were the Orion, the Tangente, the Ludwig and, of course, the Tetra. Of all the Nomos watches, the Tetra watch collection is probably home to those models with the most “out there” dial colours and this latest release of square watches is certainly no exception to that rule. Strategically, Nomos has been known for letting its most desirable dial colour options enjoy a taste of success before withdrawing them from the market and keeping its most devoted collectors longing for more. Hopefully, these new Nomos Tetra Neomatik 39 watches for 2022 will be around for a while. Known as the wild card, the Nomos Tetra is reinvented yet again in these new and striking colourways that dare consumers to be a little braver.
The new Nomos Tetra Neomatik 39 watches measure dimensions of 33 x 33mm which, in turn, create a rather large corner-to-corner measurement of 46.67mm! Although edgy, dynamic and on the large size, these models certainly suffice as great everyday wearers. Aside from their reliable in-house-made movements and their unusual brown shell cordovan straps, which haven’t been seen for quite some years, these new Tetra Neomatik 39 watches also have pretty smart dials. Although great for the Summer, they’re also in-fitting with autumnal and winter shades with an indulgent red coloured dial, a dark brown shade, a beige and a vibrant blue display. The warm tones of the brown shell cordovan strap are a perfect match for these unusual dial shades. Taken from a small area of the hindquarters or rump of the horse, this is an incredibly thick and durable leather material that will never crack. For optimum comfort, these Horween shell cordovan straps secure to the wrist with a refined stainless steel deployment clasp.
The new Nomos Tetra Neomatik 39 watches all celebrate the brand's 175th year of watchmaking and are thus limited to just 175 pieces worldwide. The models are crafted from stainless steel and boast a perfectly square shape, topped with an anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front. The back of the case, also fitted with an exhibition lens, reveals the workings of the in-house Calibre DUW 3001 - an incredibly flat automatic movement that measures a mere height of 3.2mm. The movement is fitted with the brand’s proprietary Swing System first released back in 2014 with a beautiful tempered blue balance spring. The fully-independent movement features an openwork bidirectional winding rotor and provides a power reserve of 43 hours. Its surface is also adorned with traditional Glashutte ribbing decoration, as well as Nomos perlage applied to the mainplate.
The new Nomos Tetra Neomatik 39 watches are all water-resistant to 30 meters and feature a simplified, minimalist dial with an hour track represented in a mix of Arabic numerals and stick markers. The hands, set against the coloured dials, which are achieved through a process similar to enamelling, are fine and straight, whilst the small second sub-dial located at 6 o’clock is differentiated by a red coloured sub-hand on the cream and black models and black hand on the red and blue models.
Ironically, it is the four equal sides of the Tetra Neomatik 39 watch and its precise 90-degree angles that really round off the design of the case, completing it beautifully. If you’d like more information on any of these four new models or would like to place an order and secure yourself one of the 175 pieces in any one of the four shades, you can call our Jura Watches sales team today on 01335 453453
